Back around 2000, there was a PC shop near me that would have all the CRTs there cycle through a bunch of these early CG images, mostly Bryce3d-style landscapes, and it was wild watching them shift around you in the shop. Searching for examples, I was amazed to discover the site those PC shop images were from is still up: Digital Blasphemy. A site so old it never even bothered getting an HTTPS cert. Feels fuckin' weird seeing a Discord embed there though.
Looking at these, I'm reminded that they always had this strange energy to them, some kind of unnamed emotion, like there was some sort of weird magic coming off them. Got a similar thing when I read Tolkien's books as a kid. Different emotion, but that same sensation of a strange, otherworldly flavor.
