I think I maybe turning into a Grinch, a Christmas cretin. It's not just the usual spiel about consumerism, over saturation, being overhyped, and the other blah blah blah's you get from most Christmas haters. I just really hate having to travel for hours in shitty weather so much. Can we move our big blowout holiday to August or September when travel isn't so fucking tough? I'm probably one of the only people on Earth who's favorite holiday is Easter, and a big reason is weather is much better.

I've been watching King Boomer Musician Rick Beato's channel lately, and his commentary on what is on the top of the charts. He's noting how a lot of the songs are throw backs to the 80's. While not vaporwave, it's getting at that aesthetic. I imagine a big driver for this was the popularity of Stranger Things and the fact that Kate Bush song came back onto the top 40. But I feel the 80's is the new 50's in our digital age, as it was the nascent years of digital technology getting into the consumer market. Electing a celebrity is something of a throwback to the 80's since it was the decade of Reagan. Even the malaise in the dating and sexual market is similar to the 80's toning it down with the sexual revolution stuff, with people rebeling by becoming more androgynous, though people are taking it to whole other level than putting on makeup.
