I added an agora current events board to contain discussions of political and current events to that category. This was due to a increase support for a separate board for political talk.
Found a temporary cure for nights when I have insomnia. When I wake up in the middle of the night, stay up for about an hour and let my brain do its thing - drink some water but absolutely no caffeine. Go back to bed but put on some headphones while playing a long, boring YouTube video essay about something retarded like "The Downfall of Cartoon Network." Lights are off, I'm tired and the essay in question is so retarded and boring that in just a few minutes I'm sawing logs. Ironically I ended up having a false lucid dream, having some awareness I was in a dream but not enough to the point where I was fully conscious for it to be called a proper lucid dream.
My second blog post is up. This time I briefly talk about loneliness and technology. I also made some corrections and lengthed my first post a little bit.
One thing I always try to do is to stay silent on a topic if I really don't know anything about it. I don't work in computer science so I can't talk about AI that much - I can really only talk about my own experiences working with Midjourney, novel.ai, and Suno when it comes to writing and art. But even still I sometimes fumble and will make a mistake talking about something I think I know enough about - when it turns out I'm missing information or got the idea completely wrong. So I'm trying to do better in this regard.
These are some digital ink drawings I did back in May. One thing I hope tech improves on is the "feel" of the stylus. Or maybe have tech that can closely mimic the action of traditional inking and painting. It'd have to be software improvements but I'd also like to see hardware that simulates traditional mediums as well.

My blog is now open! My first post is rather short and not really representative of what I will be writing about - but it's a pretty good intro post in my opinion. I'll have some free time coming up soon so I'll be able to write more and hopefully find some more material worth sharing.
Finally getting around to working on my neocities page. It's not ready to share here yet since I still have a lot to configure and I haven't even written a proper blog post yet, but it's definitely a lot of fun and I feel like I can finally write all those essay-length schizo posts I have saved on my word docs.
I love how the midwit take is "Burial is back!" And I'm sitting here like: "Did he ever leave?" Man's been releasing amazing material, that includes Antidawn and Streetlands EP.
Does anyone here have a short term cure for insomnia? Magnesium glycinate has been somewhat helpful but I really wish I could just have one week fully rested without waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning.
Little update on my worldbuild. I think dialogue is probably gonna be the hardest thing I have to come up with when it comes to crafting a "language" for my characters. Right now I'm trying to come up with certain rules I can follow (no contractions, for instance). I really just don't want my dialogue to end up sounding like something out of a poorly-written YA fantasy novel. (;¬_¬)
I'm at the stage in my current worldbuild where I'm getting somewhat comfortable with how the characters and culture are turning out, now it's just a matter of actually putting it all together in a way that makes sense that's making me anxious.
I just woke up from a dream about how bad SEO and digital file preservation has gotten. Specifically, whenever you're trying to find some media but it's been poorly archived or not archived at all, so all you can find are edits, crops, poorly compressed versions of the original file, etc.
You know what? I was gonna complain, but I'm going to be thankful instead. I was thinking about how you can't have a normal discussion on 4chan anymore without layers and layers of irony and insincerity. But then I thought about how people are flocking to sites like here, SheepishPatio, different Mastodon/Fediverse instances, etc. The discussions here are authentic and sincere compared to >reddit or even 4chan. It's a good feeling, something to think about.
