  • Wait, what, you can play games.png here? :LumPog:
I was on my way to write about memes, irony and post irony, but on the third page I realized this is probably the simplest way to illustrate the point:

Can someone tell me what kind of mental illness I have or should I post the whole text when it's done so I get a better assessment?
I struck a mouse and a keyboar to my cellphone, and since it's a flip phone, it can stay upright on it's own to act like a small computer screen.
Am I phone posting? Or is this like a tiny notebook by now? :AYAYAAngry:
Instead of having a bunch of sensors on a 'self driving car', wouldn't it be easier to have sensors on the road and use a centralized system to move the cars around?

Lotta more expensive and roads are gov property yeah but you are not limited by energy consumption, got a ton more space to play with, and the road won't move on it's own.

If embeded in the road, look into solar roadways disaster, as well as considering how bad potholes are.
If put up like traffic cameras or traffic lights, all it takes is some guy to cover it up, or crash into one to cause a lot of chaos. That said, considering the fact we have traffic lights and traffic cameras would mean something like this is possible, but it'd be a hard job convincing governments to loosen the purse strings to spend on this project.
Finally the last thing it requires is excellent wifi and electrical coverage for all the roads. Countryside roads will become inaccessible for the most part doing this. And periods of electrical outages would be disastrous.

Not that it's not possible, but a lot of infrastructure has to be in good condition and well maintained. I don't think the UK could do it with all the pot holes, and country roads we have

Thanks! I'll look into the solar road disaster, didn't hear about it before.

And yeah, like Hamada mentioned, it is a silly idea for a variety of reasons. It may be fun in theory but when push comes to shove it's just not practical at all.

Like 60's 'elevated sidewalks', futuristic and all but a nightmare in every other aspect.
Just tried making buffalo wings like you suggested. I can tell I didn't get the cinnamon/balsamic vinegar/tabasco ratio right, but even so it was fire. Will be trying that again some time for sure

Yo can I get that recipe?

Wing tip: put your wings in garlic brine for 24 hours before the cook. Fucking revolutionary. It's a big deal when making nuggies.

@Punp the direct quote is as follows
Spicy grilled chicken wings with a touch of cinammon and balsamic vinegar
Say, about as much salt as you like and just a pinch of cinammon, like 1/5 tablespoon for 4 wings, the wings must be spicy. I personally like tabasco sauce but I think black pepper or any other pepper will do.
Now while you're grilling the wings, you throw some balsamic vinegar over them. Two or three times through the whole grilling session.
And after all that throw a pinch of cinammon over them, and you're done, it's really good.

Excellent thanks! I'll hit this up next time.
    "It's rude to cold-DM someone"
What's your opinion on "cold dm", agora?
Is it a thing? Is it a sign of the changing times?
    For me it's incredibly funny

I'll see you all in 2054, when getting a DM is equal to the anxiety some people get answering/making phone calls.

"Cold DM" was definitely a term invented by some marketing type person (and I use the term "person" loosely when referring to subhuman marketing scum). If you're not supposed to just send someone a message on a messaging platform, how are you supposed to even know that you can just talk to them? Is "cold tagging" going to be next? Do these types go to restaurants and sit down at a table, then throw a fit when a waiter asks what they want to eat since the waiter is just cold-assuming that they're hungry? What madness

Really depends on the platform. If I get a random DM/friend invite on discord or steam it's usually a bot/spam/scams so I can see how this made people weary of those things.

    But generally I don't care.
    I met a mime yesterday
I'll get the mime to hangout with the clown boy, I want to see them both in-character and see what happens.
I tried to read some book people were praising, --
it reads like a massive >redditcostanzayeahrightsmirk post, I couldn't get past the second chapter.
I guess if people like this and it actually gets published, anyone capable of producing a 'quality' >redditcostanzayeahrightsmirk post can get a book published. It's encouraging, in a way.

The book is Stolen Focus by Johann Hari, and it beautifully sets the tone of the whole book by giving the most fantasious anecdotes I have ever read in a 'serious' book to this day.

Did you know that best seller lists are generated by publishing houses and defined before a single end consumer even purchases a single copy? As soon as the marketing campaign is over, you'll probably never hear about that book again

"TikTok book" sounds hellish, just a bunch of one-liners for 250 pages.

    @CaptainStrider
The worst part is the 'totally real' anecdotes, it's almost insulting that this author wants to pass this book as 'genuine' and 'researched'.

    @MySpace Tom
Thanks, I didn't know that, but I have always wondered why so many shitty books were 'best sellers'.
I didn't pick this book because it was a best seller though, I was curious about young kids (1 to 7) mindlessly scrolling tiktok and it's effects on them, and a lot of people mentioned that one book.

These days there are so many bot posts on the net, it's hard to get proper book recommendations. GPT agents dramatically lower the overall intelligence of any website they inhabit.
Isn't it weird to post things for absolute strangers on the internet to read and reply to?
People you will never meet, people you will never truly interact with. People you will never know.

It's weird, how so many people got convinced to take this nonsense so seriously. The internet is just a public collection of anonymous pen-pals.

Being sincere to strangers online is not any more weird than being stoic with acquaintances in person
    Noxy
    Noxy
I guess it is the same level of weirdness. Yet, is it worth it to be stoic with real people and sincere with internet personas?
In the end one is just hiding their real self and personality expressions instead of finding a place in which one can properly express themselves safely. Sure, not every real place is meant for self-expression, but to remove it completely from one's life does not seem healthy.
    MySpace Tom

Of course. Naturally if people start to connect in any place, they will be able to form friendships where they can be more open about themselves
    Guys, i have a problem

there's this wholly comely over puppy boy i adhore, and he likes me too--
But. On the other hand there is this wholly eldritch (in the best feel of the word) other girl that i know has the hots for me--
And. At the same time i barely met the creepiest (in the best feel of the word) adorablest girl dealer ever, and she stole my eyes--

Why. Must life whet me with so many options, and i know i can only belong to one T-T
I been wondering why small sites are so slow lately
Sadly any real discussion is hindered by the dead internet theory... It's hard to find discussion on this matter because people seem to focus way too much on 'the internet is full of bots', and not in the 'why are small sites so slow? is everyone really exclusively posting on social media and chats now? why was it different in 2015?'
I know some people attribute the 'changes' to people browsing through their phones now, but I see a flaw in that reasoning: What happened to the people that were already there?
The people that actively posted on small sites a decade ago, did they all die? Disperse? What happened?
    Digital Cheese
    Digital Cheese
I suspect a huge majority of the people just moved onto social media, and those that didn't have often just touched grass by this point. There's the occasional new blood, along with the occasional long-staying user, but by this point, many old places are just desolate.
    Jodo_Fan

Slow as in not being updated? I've noticed this too. Same goes for small hobby forums. On the one hand I think it's kinda natural that people's interests and priorities change over time. So I'd expect most personal sites to have a shelf life. But we also shouldn't underestimate the constant pull of social media platforms. People like to be where everyone else is.

As for small forums, I think it's Discord and chats doing the damage. Which is something I find absolutely fucking mystifying.
    InternetGeist
    InternetGeist
Small forums usually have a theme and encourage long discussion threads. Many people just don't have the patience, attention span, ov even a personal interest other than doomscrolling to devote themselves to a platform beyond your basic mainstream social media.

The people already there either moved out to real life, did site hopping a lot, or chose the social media route too.
    Oh
    I just realized
It's the very base of Brave new world!
As soon as people are not able to communicate complex ideas with each-other, there is absolutely no chance of revolt ever happening.

Do you think someone in a position of power has ever had this tought?

Because nowadays videos are shorter and shorter, everyone seems to have ADHD all of the sudden and it seems some people prefer to send each-other an image-macro with a meme, or a string of emojis rather than express complex ideas.
And a lot of people will turn the other cheek as soon as more than one paragraph of text appears on the screen.

On top of this, we are more or less getting 'trained' (or pavlov'd) into discarding large amounts of text as soon as we see them on the screen, because it seems that most first-page google results, and other giant WOT that get posted on the internet consist of 90% filler and 5% content. Sometimes 0% content.

I had all of this realization whilst drawing a pony
