• I added an agora current events board to contain discussions of political and current events to that category. This was due to a increase support for a separate board for political talk.

  • Finally finished Steins;Gate (the anime). I agree with those saying that the first half was a tad slow. I also thought some character arcs (like Shining Finger and Mr. Braun) were not very well integrated with the whole. But now that I have finished it, I can honestly say it was good an enjoyable.
Saw this on the neo-folk thread and couldn't help myself.

Discovered my job's been 2 or so blocks from an old school style arcade this whole time and checked it out. Classic arcade cabinets and neon signs, they just needed to play period accurate music and it would've been perfect.

Got humbled by Donkey Kong and Defender Stargate but I can proudly say you can find PZL on the all time score boards for Robotron and Quantum there now.
Thanks man, I had downloaded 170 GB of Steins;Gate (the animu, of course), but looking at some of your profile posts and searching what SciADV meant made me decide on starting it! (Well, and there's nothing else to watch except Ninkoro right now).

Nice. I'd be careful regarding some of the anime adaptations outside of Steins;Gate. A lot of the other anime are too short and suffer from pacing issues. For example, the Chaos;Head anime is only 12 episodes. The VN has an average playtime of 23 hours according to this, and the anime had to crunch that down into like four. I haven't personally watched the anime besides Steins;Gate and its sequel though, so I'm just going off what I've heard.

Nice! Happy to hear it! Always happy to get someone started down the rabbit hole lol

Steins;Gate rocks, and while the anime adaptations for the rest of the series do suck as Arcensyl said, it's a great series overall if you sit down to read (play?) it. Regardless, would love to know what you think when you finish it up!
My favorite part of SciADV is how it's canon that the Illuminati pays people to shit up boards and forums and even harass sensitive young anons such as myself so they can harvest our vril (CODE samples) to use to manipulate reality.
The future will belong to either the ideological descendants of 2014 Tumblr or of 2016 4chan, there is no alternative or in-between.

How does that make you feel?
Euro takes on American politics are doing more to convince me Russia deserves everything up to the Ardennes and more than any Putler bots could ever hope to
Getting busier with work the past few months has made it clear to me why social media took over from old forums and blog comment sections. I only use Twitter, but it's way too easy to just occasionally scream into the void on your phone every once in a while when you don't have the time or energy to actually engage with posts and posters like you do on forums or elsewhere.
I really like your new profile picture of Pollon. It does remind me that I need to sit down and get through the rest of the Sci-Adv series though; I've been putting off AC for like a year since I wanted to finish the Chaos games first. Anyways, its a neat picture that fits well with your blue banner with Siera.

Woah! A fellow SciADV enjoyer! Thanks! Appreciate that someone appreciates the slight thought I put into the kind of aesthetic of my profile haha, I thought it went well with the Seira banner too. Honestly wish I could remember where I got the original of this Pollon image, I edited it slightly recently but I've had the original for a hot minute now, the guy's a solid artist and I'd like to give him some kind of credit.

Anyways, I really recommend A;C, it's a fun and heartwarming ride, if it a bit too short imo. Do go through at least Chaos;Head Noah first though, as with most of the series it's kind of imperative to really /getting/ it. Child iirc has some stuff hinting at A;C mechanics in at least one of the side routes too iirc so probably go through that too. It's also just, imo, the best story in the series so play it if only for that reason lol

Yeah, I've heard that A;C is pretty short. Its kinda sad when combined with its higher price compared to the other entries. It does look fun though; I really loved the unique, futuristic aesthetic that the game has. I think I read about the game's reliance on concepts introduced by the Chaos games. It makes sense; with the parts I know about, I imagine something like visual rebuilding must play a big part in the story of A;C.

Speaking of the Chaos games, I'm actually half-way through Noah, though I've gotten sidetracked and haven't played in a long while. That time gap for me is ironically one of the reasons its taking me so long. I want to restart Noah since its been so long, finally play the original Steins;Gate since I've only played Elite, then do Child before going through SG Zero, both R;N games, and then finally get to A;C. That's just the plan though; I've been putting it off since that'd obviously take me a while to get through.

It's short but fun and the characters are a blast to watch. I just wish there was more time to see the characters just hang out slice of life style and get to know them a bit better like with prior casts in prior games, but their dynamics are really nice as they go through all the crazy plot stuff regardless. Still love my girl Momo and Pollon's my GOAT. Also, not to spoil or anything but in regards to Noah and A;C it's more that A;C recontextualizes aspects of Chaos;Head (and thus C;C a bit too) and it would be a shame to go in to Noah already having that information imo. Otherwise, you're kind of left to figure out how Chaos; stuff influences A;C's story on your own.

And yeah, I always recommend going through the series in release order, it's a good plan and I think how it makes the most sense since that was how it was intended to be gone through. I've gotten stuck in time gaps like that that make me want to or actually just have me restart before myself, I think it's common when going through visual novels, just depends on how much you remember. With so much to go through, it can be a bit of a hassle lol especially if you have a working or school life. Worth it though I think, especially with SciADV, it's a great series.
