"When to thy Haunts Two Kindred Spirits Flee"
So that the Soul might find its Haven,
Thou shouldst seek out those echoings unfading;
Mem'ries in works of Art long graven —
The blaze of Love still stoking; th'ash of Loss still shading.
Fear nothing, and let nothing steereth
Thee astray; For to live is long to wander:
That the cold word at length Endeareth,
And the dead man's forgotten day shalt loving, ponder.
Care not for passing disaffections,
And neither chart for the entrancing pleasures
The lost doth carry in deceptions;
Rather pursue, with Human heart — more Human treasures.
At last — O Dearest Friend of Mine —
Shalt findest thou there that most struggled peace,
A land and nation of companions thine,
And with one Covenant shall then all heartache — cease.
