I also feel there is a generational thing going on, with Millenials largely being secular growing up during they hey day of fedora atheism, where as Zoomer's have just been raised in cultural ruble and seem more open to woo.

Honestly /lit/ /his/ and /x/ were the boards which "suffered" the most from there not being a religion & philosophy board. The reason I would go to /x/ from time to time is that you could come across someone talking about a religious/esoteric practice that you never heard of. Granted it was very superficial but you could go into the rabbithole from there.
I guess if you just wanted spooky stories some anon posting about the music of the spheres would've been annoying, but I found that more interesting.

Yeah that's why I always wanted a split. Keep /x/ and then make a spiritualism board where all these nutjobs could larp. At least I had some fun trolling people there once. I went into these palm reading threads and pretend I'm gifted and I've seen my fair share of greasy anon palms and then made up some bullshit and they even thanked me for it I didn't say anything mean, most of these guys are really down on their luck and not at the best place in life when they go and ask for shit like palm reading. Just wanted to see how gullible they really are.

I think the utter lack of scepticism is what I found so heartbreaking. Of course old /x/ would sometimes suspend their disbelief for a greentext to get into a spoopy mood when some anon was posting a story about their haunted granparent's house when the writing was good but usually the people were very critical which acted as a great filter. So the topics needed to be either actually mysterious or just obvious but well written fiction.
Nu-/x/ however seemed to collect belief in retarded conspiracy theories like trading cards, the larping was teenage girl tumblr tier awful and these magik genreals with more tripfags than anons were the slimiest of cirlce jerks where they kept one upping each other on who has read the most books of certified charlatans on how to do real magic spells. What a disgrace! I get sad just thinking about it again.

They all were charlatans, if they believed in it or not but you can't read someone's future, let alone by examining a photo of a palm. I think that will depend on what route they decide to take. If they're sticking with the old 11 year old php/whatever else codebase then it could take a few months. If they decide to cut their losses and use existing open source imageboard software then that might speed things up a bit.
I personally feel like the second option is more probable since they've clearly shown how little work they're willing to put in to maintain the site, but maybe they're commited to the old codebase for one reason or another.
For the sake of gambling, my totally uninformed and unqualified guess is Early/mid june. I pray they reopen in on juneteenth because it would be funny.

Someday when I'm bored I'll make a Tarot thread, or revive an old one if it exists. Ever since I found my grandmas old deck in her closet I've been fascinated by it.

Even as someone who is into that stuff, that does sound insufferable. Actually the thing that got me into woo stuff were /x/ threads that treated the subject with absolute mundane matter. Guys would talk about a demon telling him to drink his blood with less concern than if a hornet nests had setup shop in the attic. Thing is though you almost need "true believers" or you just have an over glorified horror short story board.

A board that really went to shit was /mu/. It always had a smarmy ironic posting style, but you could actually talk about things on there. The irony poisoning was so bad you can't even discuss anything, with the only threads that got traction being political bait or kpop. I think something like over half the posts on /mu/ was just the kpop thread. The board also has the taint of helping catapult Anthony Fantano to stardome.
