That first track reminds me of 90's new age music.
The stuff you would find for sale in museum gift shops, Wild Birds Unlimited, and you'd sometimes find a little cardboard display of them in big box stores near housewares rather than the electronics/music department. You know the ones with that a little electronic music player to let you hear samples from the different albums they were selling? Also somewhat reminiscent of 90's computer games when CD audio became big deal.

But then we reach the second track and they're clearly starting to deconstruct and play around with it.
Interesting.

i like it, would be interested to hear more of this genre. i hope people experiment with it more, would be interesting to hear a fusion of aerowave with another genre of vaporwave.

It does indeed start out pretty "eerie" and superficially pleasant then deteriorate more and more, especially across the first three tracks. It reminds me of a sped-up version of the process that happens in the first half of "Everywhere at the End of Time", taking coherent nostalgia and slowly injecting it into a Dream Destroying Machine (EATEOT does that to symbolize dementia). "Night Party Echoes" is also too good for the rest of the album and probably should've just been turned into a 20-minute progwave EP by itself, those effects near the end are lovely.

Listening to this makes me wonder what psychological effect it'd have on kids today if someone made neo-vaporwave out of TikTok sounds and iPhone notifications.

This reminds me more of the late 90s and edutainment games rather then Frutiger aero aesthetic. Sounds decent though, I think it has potential once the aesthetic itself gets a more consistent and coherent identity.
