• I added an agora current events board to contain discussions of political and current events to that category. This was due to a increase support for a separate board for political talk.

I thought about posting the 80's car I wish I owned now.
But instead I've decided to post the 80's cars I actually did own and drive (at the end of the 90's).

My first car, It was falling apart and barely ran when I got it. Don't think it lasted more than a year.
The lining of the ceiling was falling in, the alternator interfered with the radio, and it had a huge overheating issue.
When I drove it in the summer once I shut off the engine it wouldn't start again until it spent about 20 minutes cooling down.
So I either had to plan around that or just leave the car running when I ran into a place real quick and came back out.

My second car, in much better shape than the last but still pretty worn out by the time it got to me.

Third car. 88 Mercury Grand Marquis.
"Bought" it from my grandma for $5 after my grandpa passed away in 2001.
Drove that beautiful gas thirsty beast for a decade. Was sad to see it go, lot of sentimental value.

I adore this model. My great-grandma had a 1984 Lincoln that looked very similar to this. My dad ran it into the ground, and I'm still bummed about it.
