Agoracraft - Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 Server, Better than Adventure

@ビンス and others, curious to hear what other people think.
Would it be possible to have additional mods for BTA alongside it?

• Basket Tipping, which lets you right click a basket to flip it to insert its items into the container and right click to make it back upright to grab items(which combines with the activator to do this tipping). I'm sure @Ashman will love it just as much as I do, because it replaces hopper functionality in a beta-feeling way, and allows for more cool redstone farm designs(i.e. cobblestone collecting facility that then outputs cobblestone into a cobble->gravel->sand machine that then outputs into a trommel, combined with a wood farm to output fuel into them all)

Sure, sounds good to me. Unless other people totally hate it (doubtful).

WORLD ARCHIVE & SERVER NEWS
I need help creating the torrent for the old world archive. Can as many of you as possible do me a favor and:

• Download THIS TORRENT
• Seed it for as long as possible
• Take the downloaded files and try to import the world file and play it (in singleplayer) to make sure it's not corrupted (BTA 7.2_01)

Please report back once you've done so and let me know about any issues.

I'm still waiting on a mod to update before I release the server. I was going to give up on it, but I really feel like this mod will totally make the experience of Agoracraft II (or III depending on how you count it) unique and even more fun. I finally got into talks with a dev about getting it ported, and it seems like he's already making progress. I'm itching to play, too, so please don't feel like I'm stalling.

Which mod out of curiosity? I've been looking around for a mod that adds a Motion Sensor crafting recipe since visiting loads of labyrinths, increasing the world size just to get a measly amount of motion sensors isn't on(though I haven't found one that does this yet )

I'm purposefully not saying to leave it a surprise, although there are clues that would allow you to figure it out. If you do find out, please don't say anything. Especially because I don't know what the timeline will be like. Did you get a chance to try torrenting the world file?

Will do. I wanna get this torrent working though because it helps for archiving purposes. If you're not busy, could you hop in the Agora Plays IRC to troubleshoot?

I went ahead and did it myself. It's open sauce: here's the github repo(see the releases for a jar or build it yourself), it's just 7 mossy cobblestone(which is farmable with moss + air + darkness + cobblestone + bonemeal, or you can just rip up a labyrinth for one) and 1 redstone. Would be cool to have on the server so making elevators and reinforced piston launchers and stuff isn't a nightmare of looking for motion sensors for hours

looking forward to whenever Vince launches the server, even though I'll probably not have much time to play.
i am interested to hear what are some projects people might be planning. i myself will probably just make some pretty travel infrastructure to help get around places. canals, subways, ice paths & the like.

Minecraft pre-Adventure update has some interesting subtlety to it. the lack of runming makes travel infrastructure practically essential to get anywhere quick. it has the same effect of making the world feel larger that Halo fans say 3 and below had, before sprinting was a thing.
increased travel times means increased distance you place between yourself and safety whenever you strike out to unsettled territory in caves and what-have-you. lowered mobility, along with no shields, makes mobs something you have to respect more than modern Minecraft.
It's not like mobs are terribly worse than newer versions, but they are much more likely to get a hit in, and food stacks way less in beta. there is a real sense of supplies running slim during an expedition that you don't get when you can simply pocket 2 stacks of baked potatoes and never think about it again.

all in all, i like pre-adventure Minecraft a lot more than even 1.12. the simplicity in the design is quite well put together imo.
