Airbush Surrealism (c. mid-1970s-mid 1980s)
Airbrush surrealism was an aesthetic popular during much of the 1970s and 80s. Characterized by its strong use of soft colors and scale, it was notable for being in advertisements, album art, and general sci-fi related art.
Personally, this has never been one of my personal favorite aesthetics. There's something very garish and cheesy about a lot of these pieces. THAT SAID, I cannot help but commend the sheer amount of effort put into these works. They are expertly made and so loaded with detail that they're undeniably interesting. What do you all think?
