I just found out about this yesterday. Five Starcle Men was a 90s band composed of two boys from lancaster CA, which is about 50 miles away from where I currently live. But they did a bunch of cough syrup to get high and hallucinate. All of their songs are composed when they were tripping out.
According to this blog on the boys, Glen Hobbs committed suicide at the in 1998. And the other boy went on to become a professor at CSU Fullerton. Info on them are extremely hard to find comprehensive info about them. only a few videos remain. I think this is a really picae of music history and really shines on what bored suburbanites in the 90s was like.
