There's that Mel Gibson movie called Conspiracy Theory. Schizo taxi driver ends up uncovering MKUltra plot. I haven't seen it in a while but I remember liking it

Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into The Future - Max's origin story about stopping a TV station from showing ads that make people explode.
Videodrome - Similar premise but with mind control
They Live - The Matrix but with a better protagonist

A bit over a week ago I saw Communion, with Christopher Walken: a movie based on the testimony of an abductee whose book became an immediate success (leading to the popularity of "grays" in modern culture) and who writes the screenplay of the adaptation. His portrayal of himself as a normal family man living through something extraordinary is made into a bit of a mockery by Christopher Walken, who never took any of the things related as fact in here even remotely serious, which leads to one of the most inherently funny performances I have ever seen in a movie.

Besides that, the movie is very interesting for me. It has a mostly absent now view of aliens as these creatures walking the line between inhabitants of the unconscious and creatures from other worlds properly - a very "new age" conception of aliens, very in line with Jacques Vallée. The scenes within the alien ship remind me a lot of Twin Peak's "lodges", more of a portal towards a spirit world working on a different logic, it's not really a machine as could be an UFO, more of a metaphysical place.

The movie... has its moments, it may be boring for some beyond how funny Christopher Walken in in this, but as a time capsule of a sort of certain spiritual beliefs touching with conspiracy theories is fascinating.

Altered carbon. It's a tv series but has the dystopia stuff. In the altered carbon universe, the UN rules the world(And several other planets)
First season is pretty good. But the book is waaay better.
In fact, the parts in the latter half where the quality of the plot starts to waver are specifically the parts where the show runners decided to diverge from the plot of the book. One change the show made which I did consider an improvement, however, was changing the AI hotel from Jimi Hendrix to Edgar Allen Poe.
