• I added an agora current events board to contain discussions of political and current events to that category. This was due to a increase support for a separate board for political talk.

Cool Little Image I Made.

I took a cool photo, & did some editing to it to create a thermal imaging kind of effect. What do you guys think?

Agora Cipher Team, run a scan on that image. This guy's too random not to be carrying a layered message.

What's 4Chan? (Genuine question, I do not know what that is and I'm afraid to search.)
Is this like... real? Is this a joke? There's no way you have never heard of 4chan before, is there?

I mean, I'm sure plenty of normal people have never heard of it, especially with the reputation it has. It's just hard to imagine any of them finding this weird transgressive website and deciding to stick around.

It's hard to respond to this without including an answer, but if you are joking, then I'd look like the biggest fool for answering seriously.

I'm from Lithuania, we genuinely never had something like this. My town only had like 5 thousand people at most. Sorry, yes I'm being serious.

What does your hometown's population have to do with surfing the Internet?

Fair enough. 4Chan is an image board that's been very popular for a few decades. (You're going to want someone who actually used it to give a better summary, but I'll do my best) It's most notable feature is that everyone's posts are anonymous (with a few exceptions, but that doesn't matter right now). Partly because of that anonymity, 4chan got a reputation for being "uncensored" shall we say. 4chan is filled with slurs that would get you banned on most other websites of a similar size. Still though, 4chan was the source of a lot of very common internet memes, and many of them weren't offensive in the slightest.

A common type of 4chan post is a "greentext", which is like, a line-by-line first-person story. Here are a few of my favorites that I've saved over the years:
sorry.jpgowosxpt2mj641.jpghugeMetalFan.png

Around 2015/2016, 4chan became associated with the American political right. I never used it myself, but here's my impression, as an outsider. While 4chan was always offensive, it seemed like they were just making offensive jokes to be funny, not outright hateful. Leading up to 2015, the American political left really started to campaign against offensive speech, which made them natural enemies to 4chan users. Once the site got a reputation as somewhere you could say offensive things without being banned, a bunch of people with an explicit right-wing agenda showed up and started posting. There's a 4chan post I could find that read something like "Wait, you guys actually like Nazis? I thought it was just a joke". I think that post summarizes 2016-era 4chan pretty well.

"4chan? Never heard of it, but I post on Agora. I've been in Lithuania too."
INCREDIBLY BASED.

I'd presume you mostly used a different language than English while on the internet until recently?
