did a interesting workshop today hosted and lead by internet artist Molly Soda where the premise was to take the preexisting files you have accumulated over time on ones computer and utilize them to create a digital collage of who you are instead of letting them fester and soil. It was interesting looking at the files on my computer through a lens of self reflection and as an extension of the self.
Let me know what you think of the movement of Internet Art :)

Holy cow! Thanks for doing what I couldnt, lol. Was going to eventually do it but thanks @Some_porcupine for being more proactive. I used google slides to make mine.

Back in 2020 I downloaded Sheepshaver which is a Mac OS9 emulator and used the website Macintosh Repository to download some applications. Some of which have a lot of extra files besides the main game or software in the Zip files and sometimes you get random 3D model assets thrown in there. Its like finding buried treasure. So the umbrella for example I believe is from a folder that came with the game Gerbils! or 123 Home Design.

I also took a bunch of screenshots of old geocities sites on the wayback machine throughout the years. I also use a random google streetview generator called Mapcrunch for references specifically in Asian countries. For some reason their cramped infrastructure is fascinating and appealing to me.

Maybe I'll make another just for the hell of it :)

Cool idea. Here's mine. I stuck to the rules: only materials on the computer now. Some of it is my own stuff. It includes a rare selfie and my dog. Oh, and, yes, I genuinely do use the oldest version of Photoshop known to man.

Very mystical love the moebius and krazy kat art. The japanese manga or magazines on the lower right look like a fever dream. Very nice, Ill consider making mine on some old software.

Awesome idea. I just got PS 5.5 to make mine.
Excellent! Honestly I'm amazed 5.5 still runs on my machine. Though things are starting to get a little janky and I might soon have to swap to GIMP. :scardoggo:

Hey, glad you spotted Moebius (and Krazy, of course). :) Those manga covers are by Teruhiko Yumura. His work was/is part of a manga movement called bad-nice or something similar.
This was a good excuse to use a bunch of stuff in my Vibes folder plus a lot of random downloads that I've had around forever
Beautiful. But way to go for making me feel like a low-effort slacker. :)
