Previous days were disappointing but today had a lot to be excited for, new metroid gets me really stoked. Horror themed and 2D are great and surprising choices. There hasn't been a 2D metroid that wasn't a remake for 19 years, and the last time there was it was my favorite game in the series. Excited to see fatal frame getting some attention as well, and a release date for SMTV.

I'm really hoping we get more information and it's even more expansive, I agree that it could almost pass for DLC of the first game because it currently feels so similar? I'm planning to watch a trailer analysis and see if other people got more out of it. I am really hoping that those underground segments will be dungeons placed inside the open world, that'd be really fuckin' cool and definitely make it feel more like a new, fresh game.

DUDE METROID!!! I LOST MY SHIT!!! I'm honestly super surprised and excited that it's a previously dropped title, I'm so happy that they're bringing back things they wanted to do with Metroid and felt like they couldn't. The Treehouse for it made me even more excited, listening to the creator of the series talk about his vision for it was really great, I loved being able to see how much he cares about making the Metroid games and about his thought process behind the new ones. The gameplay was great too, it looks so smooth once you get used to it and jesus christ the EMMI are terrifying. I'm so happy it's 2D and I'm so happy they've really built upon the previous 2D Metroid games, it's gorgeous and I'm so excited!
