EU sanctions Poland and Hungary for not being liberal enough

Poland and Hungary, being conservative countries, have been having a spat with the EU over LGBT rights and democracy. At the time of the article below being written, the EU was considering cutting billions in funding to both countries over these issues.

Since then, Hungary and Poland have taken in countless Ukrainian refugees and acted as the main European channels for the war in Ukraine. Poland in particular is currently on the front lines of the anti Russian resistance.
