the principle of the biological cell, a self replicating system which can participate in evolution

life is just emergent complexity over this principle
im just tryna be the best cell in this multicellular organism I can be by assisting in preserving complexity

extracting negentropy from my environment, and producing as little entropy as one can
These sound like Against the Grain-era Bad Religion lyrics, very nice

Being good is its own reward. Therefore, a man should strive to be as good as he can be.

Happiness should be derived from within rather from without if it is to be truly lasting.

Whatever happens was simply meant to be and there is no benefit in fretting over it.

He who desires more will never have enough.

If a man wishes to see me, he will be glad to see me whether I appear clothed in rags or woven silk.

The man who derives his status from his material wealth instead of his good character is a mere accessory to his possessions.

Attaching your happiness to a phyicial object or something that you don't have will in the end only lead to sadness. That does not mean that you can't find happiness in getting something, like a cool object or a person you love and they love you. It just means you are setting yourself up for failure if you can't find this... balance? I am not sure what to call it.

Every authority over me is evil until i have a way to affect it

Obsessions ruin people

  • Man is a divine animal. We are indivisible from nature, but we are also imbued with a transcendent will and imagination that make us unique among all living things. There is no dichotomy or tension between the body and the spirit. Together, they make up the Self. The health of the body affects the health of the mind/soul, and vice versa.
  • Anti-natalism and nihilism are dysgenic philosophies. They are the result of man attempting to bring existence itself under the dominion of human reason and moralistic calculations.
  • That which is beautiful is also true and good. Beauty is the watermark of this highest virtue, a virtue which cannot be described by a single word or condensed to a single example. Just because we don't possess a clear-cut metric for what beauty is doesn't mean beauty isn't an objective reality. Rather, it shows that beauty is beyond our attempts to quantify and systematize it. And therein lies the power of beauty - it's beyond our understanding, but we still recognize it and delight in it when we see it.
  • It's good to take risks, chase experiences, and live life to the fullest! All Apollo and no Dionysus makes Jack a dull boy. It's all about balance.
  • Sunbathing, exercise, whole foods, and good friends are the keys to health and happiness. We are not meant to live isolated, artificial lives.
  • Nothing the world can offer you is worth more than your conscience and relationship with God. You only live forever.

I would boil my life philosophy down to these:

  • If someone else's actions do not have a direct measurable effect on you or someone who is unable to consent, it's none of your business.
  • Keep things simple and concise as possible.
  • Plant things. You will enjoy watching them grow.
  • Dogs are not children. People who think they are not worth your time.
  • I will never be able to relate to people who suffer from neurosis.
  • Do a sketch or drawing before you construct something.
  • It is better to be independent than a burden.
  • Don't lie to your wife.
