• I added an agora current events board to contain discussions of political and current events to that category. This was due to a increase support for a separate board for political talk.

Here's something I make at home. The recipe is a modification of Kenji's Vietnamese-American Garlic Noodles:

Ingredients:
  • Two heads of garlic;
  • Half a bunch of parsley;
  • Half a bunch of chives;
  • 4 - 6 red peppers;
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce;
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce;
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce;
  • 500g of pasta (I recommend fusilli, but you can use any shape).
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, plus a drizzle more.
  • Optional: half a cup to one cup of edamame for some protein or up to 4 scoops of unflavored whey powder;
  • Parmesan and sunflower seeds to serve.
Instructions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC;
  2. Peel the garlic while the oven heats. Pack it in aluminum foil with a drizzle of vegetable oil, put it on the pre-heated oven for 40 minutes to 1 hour;
  3. Start boiling the water for the pasta;
  4. Chop the peppers, parsley and chives for easier blending. Add them to a blender with the soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, vegetable oil and, if you choose to use it, the edamame. No need to blend it yet!
  5. Once the water is boiling, add the pasta to the pot;
  6. Once the pasta is almost done, remove the garlic from the oven and add it to the blender. Now's the time to blend!
  7. Strain the pasta, throw away the water (you can save some to thin down the sauce if you think it is too thick), put the pasta back on the pot. Add the blended sauce, mixing it over a low flame to warm up;
  8. Serve with grated parmesan and sunflower seeds to taste.
