Recently- earlier this year, actually, so not that recently, I was hanging out on /x/, as I'm sure quite a few of us tend to do- procrastinating school work, and suffering from general mental burnout- when I came across a thread that piqued my interest. It had an exceedingly schizopilled title, something along the lines of "THE CIA EXPERIMENTED ON YOU - G.A.T.E."

It had a clearly copy and pasted list in the OP, which you can find in several, several locations across the internet, along with a brief summary.

Throughout the 90s and early 2000s (pre-2010s), the government ran a program known as "Gifted And Talented Education". It purported to be teaching advanced/hyperintelligent students, with an advanced curriculum that would appeal to them, and their accelerated learning capacity. Of course, this theory purports, this is merely a front, and the true purpose of these experiments classes was to... TEST CHILDREN FOR ESP AND TURN THEM INTO CIA GOVERNMENT CYBERDRONESSSS!!!

I couldn't find the original thread archived, but I found the next best thing- an archived /pol/ thread, where someone is schizzing out about it.

- Blue eyes (hazel seems equally common)
- Occipital Bun (aka math bump on the back of skull)
- Birth Complications (like weeks early or not breathing)
- Near Death Experiences (particularly drowning)
- lack of memory of GATE - (we all did many many hours there, and it's very vague)
- windows were covered
- tendency to being followed (abductions and general tracking too)
Other similarities, less common but still a few exGATErs agree on these too;
- Interest in /x/ phenomena
- Heavy early twenties drug period
- Forehead scares
- Early speech therapy

- Migraines

So here's the thing about that damn list- I see it in every fucking resource about this rabbithole. And I can't find the original source.

I was in GATE when I was younger, and I think I match up with much more of this list than I feel comfortable sharing.

So here's my story from it-

I remember only this much: The windows were always covered by black construction paper, and they kept the room very dark. Only one light was ever one, and we never really did anything project-wise. There were dioramas all over the hall, which they said the previous class did, but nobody seemed to ever remember making those dioramas. Another thing- kids would just disappear and be memory-holed from the class's consciousness, or something.

There was this kid, Ross, who went through the program for the fall semester of the school year, but stopped coming after winter break. When I asked about him, I was scolded, and laughed at, and told he never came to the program, or was involved. Asking the other students got me the same exact response. Apparently, Ross was never there.

He broke his arm a week later, and was never seen at the school again.

As for what we did in the class? Can't fucking remember. The teacher always looked worried- she would make us write shit, a lot. Like, essays far beyond our age level, research essays, but we weren't allowed to do research- we had to make up the facts along the way, and they "had to be correct". We never received grades on them, or ever saw them after we turned them in.

Other weird shit, as well, I think- Something with cards, and a lot of random snack parties, without any reasons for them.

My advice is that you can become free, but, it is very difficult. If you are still an active asset someone very close to you is reinforcing your programming. There is freedom in and through Jesus Christ, but, you probably have been given severe emotions to drive you away from Him or religion in general, despite an interest in paranormal events. Many individuals have broken free and remain free.

- Israeli art student girlfriends (of all the things on this list, this was the most unusual one because of how true it holds to some of my friends and myself. I had a brief stint with a Jewish art student not too long ago but broke up with her since she was kind of annoying)

Just to be clear, I was not officially in GATE, however I was occasionally invited to sit in on certain lessons (usually history related since that's always been my passion) and I went on a history related field trip with them. This was between 3rd - 6th grade. They also separated me from the general population to take the state exams with them as they knew I had a tendency to blow through tests with ease. We were a small school but not like we were in the middle of nowhere (very old population there so not a lot of young parents) only 25 or so kids in my entire grade and we were taught by one teacher. Classes took place in the library and were taught by the one librarian we had.

I don't recall anything particularly weird happening, but again I wasn't attending regularly. If you subscribe to the conspiracy theory that most leaders are chosen way ahead of time, then I suppose this would be the way to find them.

I was also in GATE (we just called it the gifted class, do not recall the actual name) with 2-3 other kids starting in 3rd or 4th grade. Can't comment on the windows or really anything else, the only memory I do have is one flashcard game being "24". 4 numbers on a card; use all numbers and any mathematical operations to get to the number 24. The rest is a blur.

I hit all but two on the entire list: am a middle son and can't say my dreams are predictive or prophetic. That is, unless I am soon to be fighting Godzilla-esque monsters in a mechsuit, or shooting my way out of zombies/monsters to protect and save my family. Lots of violent escapes, only one left to do anything, hero complex(?) type dreams. I hope they aren't prophetic.

God damn you've just unlocked a buried memory of mine, haven't thought about that game in ages. Just looked it up to make sure and it's the same thing I was thinking of. I only know that game because of GATE and I feel like that it may have somehow been used to test people for entry too but I can't recall exactly.

my story:
tested into it at the end of first grade and program ran from 2nd-8th grade. the test involved an iq portion and a 'creative thinking' portion where they'd have you draw something off an abstract shape or some shit. i remember turning a ladder into an elaborate dungeon scene (yeah i know, dark).

classes were one day a week in elementary then 3 days a week in middle school. they grouped us by grade 2-3 graders together and 4-5 graders together. this created a hierarchy where the older grade led most of the group work. In 6, 7, 8, grades it was not like this. These years were geared more towards individual study – you'd bring project idea to teacher and she'd approve and send you on your way.

my favorite part of the program were the puzzles out of this 'tricky lateral thinking puzzles' book, where the teacher would give us a riddle or story and we'd have to ask yes/no questions as a group to figure it out. i specifically remember one about a cabin on a side of a mountain stocked with plenty of food and water, thats locked from inside, and has 30 dead people inside. what happened?

we also went to these big conventions with gate kids from schools from all across the area where we'd compete in 'creativity conventions' and math olympic style games. i still have some of the medals from the math games.

anyways... i should also point out that i went to a 90% black school district and yet every single white kid and international/immigrant student from my grade was in gate and only a couple black kids. prolly lots to do with socioeconomic situations but i remember thinking it was odd - even at a young age. not sure i understand the cia/mkultra tie-in but it was definitely a big part of the academic tracking in my district. gate kids were pushed into the honors/ap track and non-gate kids would be discouraged by counselors from taking 'advanced' classes even if they really excelled or were interested in a class.

I have a wealth of gate info and recalled so much I shld write a book. They took me to military bases and used looking glass tech on me .... I hit all those marks on the head the easier 3 to find us is 1 rh neg blood 2 born on a new or full moon 3 military fam . I'm all 3 ..... this thread is phenomenal. Hi there! I stumbled across this post while doing research on some recently surfaced memories and I'm having trouble filling in some blanks. For some reason I was compelled to look up the GATE program and it's role in my life to find my answers.

I'm on a quest to find answers because I am a highly intuitive person, my entire life has been filled with synchronicity's that I often dismiss as coincidence, but it's starting to get to the point where I'm feeling like there's a bigger picture here. Not a day goes by Without A private yet very specific thought coming to fruition. I used to wonder if I had psychic abilities lol and now as I'm getting older I'm starting to feel like maybe I'm just tapping in to a frequency that's already been mapped out. As if I'm being clued in to the plan. Does this make sense? Anyway, it brought me here and now suddenly I'm overflowing with GATE memories I literally haven't thought of since childhood.

First of all, does anybody remember their "handlers" in this whole initition process? Because I sure do. I'll never forget how special I felt and how serious this was because I was being tested in a windowless room, by adults in white lab coats. LAB COATS! I felt like something big was happening and I was going to be a part of it. I remember dull lighting and quiet atmosphere. I was alone with adults for most of the testing until I wasn't... at most, 2 to 3 other children my age would be present but never in close enough proximity to each other to chat. And we were never left alone. I had 2 adults, a dark haired, middle aged, tall, serious man and a woman likely in her early 30s , blonde and quiet, neither of which ever left my side. I tested for over a week but I can't remember how long exactly. I just remember at least one weekend in between initially starting the process and finishing it.


Does anybody remember being tested for remote viewing? Of course it was not called this in the program, but I remember very specifically being asked to identify what was going on in a completely separate room. And also for some reason I felt as if I knew exactly what was going on in the other room... like with certainty. I visualized 2 men shaking hands. And I have no idea why, or if I was even correct, but reflecting on it now, I feel very unsettled.

I also remember being tested on my ability to crack codes, Remember ridiculous sequencing, there were ink blot tests, and ONCE AND THEN NEVER AGAIN there was a test to move something without touching it. I was told to imagine where I wanted a pen on the table in front of me to GO and then make it go there with my will. I.shit. You. Not. Nothing came of this test, epic flop. But whyyyyyy did this happen? I also had to replicate mazes which were shown to me for 10 seconds on a card, and I underwent a series of emotional and psychological tests where I was shown imagery that was intended to spark an intense feeling. I noticed that a poster below mentions acting out as a kid in 2nd or 3rd grade and then later being invited to test for the program. This resonated with me. Prior to my initiation in to the program, I was diagnosed as ADHD and prescribed ridilin. My mother and grandmother, who were my guardians, refused the medication on my behalf and I never dosed up. Fast forward to later that year and I'm officially in the GATE program. I was told that I was invited because I exhibited hyper intelligence. I was just shy of turning 8 and heading in to 3rd grade. Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Once in the program and settled in to my new classroom environment, I felt a sense of pride. Like I was a cut above. And it felt really good because prior to that I felt like a hyper kid who annoyed and frustrated everyone. Lol
I pushed harder to be the best I could, I became really competitive with my own self because I had been led to believe that there was something special about me and I was determined to show myself. My teacher was Ms. ORONA, although there was never a day spent with her where she felt like a teacher... she always felt like a secret agent playing a part? She was stern and no nonsense but she just felt SO familiar like I had known her long before than this class. I went to Washington elementary. In Montobello, California. Anyone else? Lol

I finished out the program, however I literally can only remember a day or 2 of actually being there. One of the days I recall, we listened to MLKJR speech on vinyl and sat in silence for the remainder of the period. Very weird feelings around this. I remember crying intensely and being pulled aside to undergo psychological evaluations again. After the program ended, strangely I was kicked out of the school for living outside of the limits and the option for a variance was denied. It was weird and sudden and my family still to this day has no idea why it happened that way... I had been going to that school since 1st and had just completed 3rd... it was just so sudden. Literally. One day I went there and the next I didn't.

I realize that all of these things sound paranoid and far fetched but I'm speaking my truth in hope of finding more answers. What the hell did we go through? I have a lot of family history that can lend to this concept.. I won't go too into it but I do have a mysterious grandfather who has government background, my grandmother is a weird amazing hippy who also has a mysterious and SECRET past which she pretends to have forgotten... I ask questions often but she's very guarded as if there is something to hide. My mother also experienced psychic testing when she was 7 and her story involves weird details like having her blood drawn for no reason? And being asked to bend spoons. Lol guys I swear I'm not I Making this up and we aren't crazy people. My life has been one big question mark and I'm so desperate to find answers. I just want to know if GATE had something to do with what my life has turned out to be. I've been followed by unmarked work vans more times than I can count, I've had a white unmarked helicopter hover in my backyard, I've seen things in the sky that I can only describe as UFOS, and I just seem to FEEL certain things before they happen. I have seen spirits and entities since I was a child.... I mean the list goes on and on. I don't feel crazy. I feel like I'm missing a piece to the puzzle. Help if you can? Lol please don't judge if you can't.

This information is highly concerning, and it really makes me reflect on my own early education experience. Some background-

I was a really bad kid in 2nd grade, and I acted out quite often. Despite that, I did very well in my classes, and I even started up a small comic book company at the time ( I was inspired to be a writer by Captain Underpants, if you can believe it). Anyway, I "calmed down" around 3rd grade- and as a result, I was taken in for the Gifted and Talented testing. I will now match up my traits to the list.

- Hazel Eyes
- I didn't even realize that I had it until now, but I actually do have an Occipital Bun. I still suck at math though.
- No birth complications (that I'm aware of).
- I did have one when I was very young, I spent one Christmas in the hospital due to a multitude of issues involving my ears and throat. The doctors needed to do surgery- otherwise my condition could have been fatal.
- I do have fuzzy memories of the GT program- but it's been so long I can chalk that up to natural causes.
- The testing room did have some covered windows, though not all of them were.
- I was never followed (again, to my knowledge).

As far as the other similarities go, here are the ones that apply to me:

-I am interested in some /x/ related topics (such as cryptids and the deep ocean), but not anything occult-oriented.
-First born son
-Above average intuition

Here are the some other memories that @Disciple mentioned that apply to me:

-headphones and a set of colored tapes that played different tones
-affinity for Wizard of OZ
-parts of Star Wars making you feel weird or disconnected (This is kind of vague, but It has happened before when I was young).
-having to choose the animal you identify with: monkey, pig, rabbit, cow, rooster or mouse (This is a pretty common psychology question for anyone that's gone to therapy before. I've always picked the turtle).


Now that I've finished listing off the similarities I have, I want to conclude with my experience and theories.

In 3rd grade, I was tested for the Gifted and Talented program. It is my belief that I was not admitted, though for some reason I was allotted more freedom and responsibility in the school after these tests. For example, I was the only child in my grade that was allowed to assist the school librarians, I was allowed to continue my homemade comic book business unimpeded by school censors, and I was even allowed into a private room where I could play strange games on the computer. There's one game in particular where you play as an apple that I've never been able to find. I was on a Mac, I know that much.

I did not stay in that public school after the 3rd grade- when 4th grade came around, I was moved to a newly opened Gifted and Talented Academy charter school. I will not give the full name of the school for the sake of preserving my anonymity, but interestingly enough, I checked back on the school on Google Maps this morning- and the "Gifted and Talented" part of the name has been erased.

I also have a brief (and highly traumatizing) experience in something called a KIPP academy in 5th grade, so if y'all are interested in hearing about that, I will tell all that I remember.

As far as my theories go- I doubt that there is something supernatural going on with the GT program. I do believe that it could be some kind of MLULTRA/grooming program for children that are viewed as "useful" to the upper echelons of power- but I highly doubt that my ghetto public school was a part of that.

At my elementary school we had something very similar called GATAS. Essentially exactly what you said about being separated into a separate class one day of the week for the entire day. We did all kinds of weird shit like analyze our favorite cartoons, play games like Stratego, Jenga, Risk, etc. games with strategy and comprehension im it's core gameplay. We'd analyze shit under a microscope at least twice a week, and we'd have some test at the end of each week that didn't even have questions on it related to the academia. And I feel like you're right about the leftist undertones. The "GATAS" teacher was an older, fat, lesbian who actively protested a majority of the school rules and regulations, she was just a Nut bag lol. Crazy others had the same experience I had lol.

I was in a 'special smart kid' program. I don't remember much but we met in a windowless room overlooking the gym. we'd go there a couple hours and do mad-;ibs and stuff. the first time the school councilor was there too but after that it was this third party lady. For better or for worse the project was canned very shortly after it started. I was in middle school. I'm an only child(first son) I have blue eyes, blonde hair(if that means anything). I have pretty god intuition and was born with my umbilical cord around my neck. I have been interested in politics since around 4th grade on when I accurately predicted the 2016 election(everyone I knew thought trump was just doing it as a promotion and would drop out). I knew he would win a couple days before the results came in. I sure hope I havent been stlked considering i don;t live in walking distance of anywhere so they could only watch me from my house. I have always been interested in conspiracy theorys and paranormal stuff. The only real unexplained scar I have was a little above my left nip. I wouldn't know if I'll have a drug spree in my 20s because I havent reached them yet. Duh. But yea. Make of that what you will.

I won't mention the country because there is evidence that they are still tracking me.

I went to a "special students education" place for years. Shit that teaches chemistry, physics, history&archery, aerodynamic&aviation etc to 5-6th graders and then groups you into what they think you do better.

My primary school teacher told me one day that she "wrote my name when they asked". I think they reach out to schools and ask for the names of "different" students. I had a test or something, I don't remember. Then they called us so we drove to the middle of nowhere to have a face-to-face IQ test. I don't know the exact score but I was told only people over a certain score are taken there. I was accepted. I would go there after the normal school once a week.

In our math classes we would do sudoku and learn basic cryptography. In history we learnt basic archery and historical methods. Aviaton class had flight simulators, plane models and basic aerodynamics. We were learning high school shit in chem and physics. We had music and art education too. I was in 5-6th grade.

I got chosen for art, physics, and music. I chose art -good choice, I know. We were in a small room in the basement doing art. Some people were doing oil paintings and using paint thinner, we were drawing naked women meanwhile and we accidentally got high-ish from the smell lol. Good memories. Also the art teacher was the friend of a journalist who was assassinated and shit -long story.

At some point we were drawing hyperrealistic strawberries and shit. We were a bunch of middle-schoolers doing -I kid you not- professional level of art. Dunno what the math people were doing. Though, I clearly remember a physics student or sth making a nerf out of hobby, modifying basically every part to add an aim and a laser and shit. He was live calculating the aim.

Also I forgot to mention that we had literature classes. We learnt mythology and the cyrillic alphabet. We memorised the entire shit in just a class or less, then wrote each other secret messages for practice lol.

Also in an engineering (?) class we were doing electrical stuff, just basic circuit shit. We were told to send each other messages in morse, so we did. Other people were sending each other "emergency, send chocolate", while my team was "bastard, i repeat, bastard".

Holy fuck now I remember we also had an astronomy class. They would explain how stars used helium or whatever, explain the theory of relativity, wormholes and shit like that. I have to mention that the astronomy teacher said that 9/11 was an inside job, too.

In a class, we literally wrote an academic paper along with research and shit and all. I wrote it about children's loneliness. Of course they weren't published but holy fuck, I was like 11 yo and shit had research methods.

The education was free.

I left the place before high school. Didn't think about it much.

The first year of college, they add me to a joint group chat of all the people I don't even know. We were all educated there at some point of our lives. I haven't even communicated with those people ever in my life or told ANYONE that I went there for long fucking years. Some phone numbers are even foreign, you are still tracked even if you change the fucking country you are in.

The group chat moderators even sent a form for "employed special students" to fill with their recent information. They said "This will be sent to the Special Education Department of the Ministry of National Education".

I thought that the place had closed and moved. They still know me. And I'm just a hyperrealistic strawberry artist, not any of those lads who were doing aerodynamics/astronomy/physics shit.

I was in GATE (or rather G&T in the uk). I have been researching this for a while now, and I've finally discovered some of the last pieces of the puzzle about what GATE was/is, why they did what they did, and the theory behind the research. I will be (eventually, it will take a while to write) making a real post about my findings, in the style of a full article. You can think of this as a prelude to that post.

About me: I am highly gifted (and astoundingly humble haha), synesthetic (spatial-ideational, spatial-vestibular, +minor variations), and I am currently studying Neuroscience at university. I do not have autism, I am however very different from the average person in how I think and experience the world (neurodiverse).

My memories of G&T involve coloured paper blocking the windows, strange adults in suits, "hearing tests", unusual problem solving and lateral thinking exercises, colour coded Zener cards, "imagination" exercises such as being asked to describe a scene I couldn't see, and all the rest. However, like others, I have very limited memory of my time in G&T. I pulled myself out of the program because I didn't think it was useful, with the added support of my parents who spoke to school staff about it. There was no G&T program in my secondary school, so I was only in the system between ages about 5 and 10.

I have been researching the theory behind the things they made us do, and have reverse-engineered an idea of what the program actually was. This will be explained in my long post, but I may have already dropped breadcrumbs into other GATE threads on /x/ while you've been reading them (you may recognise some of the links I give).

I too am from a country outside of the US (Western Europe) and have very similar recollections.
Of the list:

- Hazel Eyes
- Slight occipital bun
- Born by C-section, but otherwise fine
- Severe pneumonia that almost killed me at age 5, have only one flash of memory of being intubated in a hospital bed
- Lack of memory of the special program classes and the testing methods, I do know that at age 6 I was sent to do some tests by my school and also evaluated by a psychiatrist, overall no memories of that time in general except a few very weird ones that I think are relevant
- In my case the classes were done in classrooms with no windows at all
- Never been followed or had feelings of being stalked
- Moderate interest in /x/ stuff, but mostly from the angle of culture and history (ancient aliens was always fascinating even if clearly bullshit to me), don't really care or believe in the occult
- No drug period (recreational) but I was medicated with anitpsychotics for about five years from ages 16 to 22
- Not forehead but scar on my temple form when I fell down the marble stairs of my building as a kid
- No speech therapy needed
- Migraines not really, but headaches that feel like a stab right behind the eye/in the ear area are/were recurrent enough that I sought medical help for them
- Israeli art gf absolutely not, I never had a girlfriend back then (no interest in relationships at that time)
- Meme magic - unsure, lean towards no other than coincidences
- Premonitions/prophetic dreams - more often than I'd like but not consistent enough to be noteworthy (premonitions of mundane events aren't noteworthy and can just be noise)
- Above average intuition - regarding what? Intuition regarding real life events, or regarding understanding systems/tools? Unsure, lean towards no. Just normal intuition.

Now onto the interesting parts,
I was taught to read and write by my own father before I went to school, home had a library and atlases/encyclopedia were common gifts for me at that age, which I would request.
I was far ahead of all the other kids in reading, writing and speech early on. And as such the school suggested I was skipped 1-2 grades, but my parents decided against it because they wanted me to be normal and stay with my friends. I don't think it's uncommon for the basic middle school curriculum to be redundant if you read encyclopedia for fun in your spare time as a curious kid.
At some point between ages 6-8 I was taken to do some standardized aptitude tests and the results made the teachers send me to get tested further and evaluated by a psychiatrist. IQ test from that time came as 134 - (interesting tidbit, later on in my last years of high school I became severely depressed and my studies suffered as a result, I failed many classes including math, physics and electronics, which I used to excel at, in the quest to find something to "cure my depression" by my parents I was IQ tested by another psychiatrist, and the results were "in the standard range" meaning somewhere below 120, I'd suspect something below 110 even, my brain felt fried and I struggled for many years to regain a sharp sense of my mind) - and was again suggested to skip a grade or attend extra/special lessons in the school itself while remaining in my current grade. My parents agreed to the latter.
I have very vague memories of dark classrooms with no windows where I was doing a lot of card pattern matching, sudoku type puzzles (but unsure if they were that or something else), memorization, lots of essay writing, argumentation, etc. There were very few students in those classrooms, less than 10 and from different grades, the school was not big enough to have that many kids, we only had 60 kids per grade in the entire school. There were none from my own grade.

The one memory I remember sharply is that I used to daydream a lot during regular classes, out of boredom I assume, but I never fell asleep and could always recall what the teachers were saying when they would be upset that I was distracted or not paying attention and could answer them what the subject was.
In one of those instances I remember "waking up" very disoriented in the middle of the classroom, and having what today I would describe as an out of body experience plus a panic attack.
I felt like I had seen myself zoned out from above my desk and then my perception was thrust back inside my skull as reality felt like it collapsed around me. I felt completely disoriented because I didn't know what time it was or how I got there. It was maybe a psychotic episode of some sort, or some kind of depersonalization.
I have a few memories of other instances like that, feeling like I was just teleported somewhere and feeling extremely disoriented that I materialized in that moment.
I think - and this is just a hunch - that I was being abused in some way, and as other personal details of my life seemed to point towards that, it is what I went with. Abuse and mental block/coping.
I know having little memories of middle school is relatively normal, but I had severe memory dark spots throughout my entire teenage years, for a long time I felt like a zombie with no past, I could not recall the previous weeks, months or years. I seriously had doubts about my own sanity at certain points due to this complete lack of memories.
I think it is interesting that what I wrote here is essentially all that I recall from that time.

Eventually I was taken out of the program, not sure if I failed to keep up (more likely) or my parents took me out because they didn't want to transfer me to a different school.
And I had almost entirely forgotten about it all until I read this thread.

I do not think there is anything particularly nefarious about it, or that I was a victim of a psy-op specifically targeting me.
I also used to think it was very ironic that a "gifted" kid like me would later on struggle so much with my studies to the point of almost dropping out.
But reading posts on the internet I found that it's not as rare as I thought, and I'm not so special. And I certainly don't feel like someone who at one point tested at 134.
I mainly attribute my struggles later in life due to a complete lack of work ethic: never doing homework, never taking notes, never studying, barely paying attention in class and getting routinely distracted because the subject is repetitive and slow turns out to be a problem once the subject material IS in fact beyond what you already know. And it is hard to course correct in the middle of all the other struggles a teenager normally faces plus all the specific issues I had at home; parents divorce.
