Was a popular aesthetic during late 90's and early 2000's and it was overlapped by Y2K aesthetic. The main elements were natural tones, lomo and Bleach bypass techniques in photography, soft electronica and techno music. It could be the minimalist version of Y2K.

So good to see things in my brain get names like this attached to them. Very satisfying! I like this one a lot, it's a bit more easygoing than Y2k

What is Lomo?

Lomography. It's a style of photography that uses older cameras and pays less attention technical details. Kinda like lo-fi photography, I guess. Usually has soft focus and interesting colors.

So what is this called? Is there a formal name for it?

Seems like great inspiration for a set of photos I would want to take. I'm a hobbyist photographer and I'm looking to shoot more film in the next few coming months. This seems like the perfect vibe I'd want to go for.

I remember taking photos like this with my lomography camera.

I rather have this minimalism than the modern most people use today

I like this aesthetic a lot, I have lots of old copies of "Rolling Stone" with these type ads. I think they were also very common in the health-type publications you see in dentist offices and so on. With all the reductionist nostalgia people tend to apply to the 90s, remembering only the things about their youth, it's interesting to consider how adults back then approached things.

I'd be interested to see a Venn diagram between this and Y2K
