Title

Is there any vapor subgenres you just cannot get into it at all? I can respect stuff like faux utopian even though I don't really listen to it that often but it def has a vibe to it for when you want to do something that its a bit more :schitztroll:.

But mallsoft its a mystery to me, I don't DISLIKE it per se but I feel there is never an appropriate situation where I would want to play it whether that would be with friends or alone.

What about you agora? Is there any sub-genres that you just cannot get into it?

Don't really know what the actual name of it is, but the glitchy and screechy vaporwave stuff is a no for me.

I also don't like Mallsoft very much. The only album I really like is Hologram Plaza. I just find so much of Mallsoft to be very shallow, it's like all the bad stereotypes about vaporwave turned into a subgenre. I also don't care much for the backstories and lore that artists try to create for their albums. Most of the time it's just a block of text on the bandcamp description and the music rarely ever depicts said story. But maybe someone in here can prove me wrong.

Reggaeton
Not even El Abayarde by Tego Calderon?

Pretty much any genre that is commonly described as "abrasive." Think: witch house, various noise sub genres, hard vapor, et cetera.

I completely understand the desire to (re)create unpleasant atmospheres, moods, and settings through music as an artistic exercise, but who actually desires to listen to this stuff in their free time? Especially when there's so many other genres (admittedly non-vaporwave genres) that do similar work with much better rhythms and melodic movements - some you could even dance to!

* 90's european pop. It's both obscure and trash as genre. Only Britpop is worth listening.
* UK Garage and Grime/Drill. Don't get me wrong. They are good music genres but the majority of the songs especially in grime talk about stuff about UK black community that makes it hard to relate to it.

honestly yeah i get it. despite me being present on this site, i dont actively listen to vaporwave anymore. i enjoy it but i definitely dont go out of my way to listen to it at this point, but i can totally understand people falling out of love with the genre. in my opinion vaporwave is rather repetitive (which is fine for me.. i mainly listen to psychedelic jam bands LOL) so i can understand someone becoming bored of it after hanging around in vaporwave-related spaces for so long. at the end of the day despite everything, i still enjoy vaporwave. its very near and dear to me as its one of the first things that got me into music and small/closed off internet spaces.

I like vaporwave tbh, but in these day i find it quite repetitive and boring to listen to, hell sometimes borderline annoying, is understandable no one is fan of a genre forever, tbh i need something more strong, chaotic and fast that helps me to keep the rythm of my life and new lifestyles, i don't like to sit and contemplate passively the sunset anymore, i want to run and shoot the sun in the face, so i've been listening to a lot of heavy genres lately, like industrial variants of breakcore for example, and music with hard bpm that catches the rythm of my euphoric heart in the gym

Tho in chill time i preffer to listen to weirdcore, is just a natural evolution i guess.

Not vaporwave related, I actually enjoy that genre.
Metal is one I can't for the LIFE of me get into. Most of my knowledge is usually what my father listens and even then, it's mostly one-offs, guess I'm gonna stick it with Progressive, Alternative, and Psychedelic and Hard Rock is a hit or miss at times for me.
