The farms have been overly corporatized sadly. It's too late for the post-post-modern monarchy. If farmers tried to strike, the mega farming corps would just swallow up more of the market and bring in migrant workers to do the job.

Hes probably not wrong, throughout history agrarian and rural peasant revolts usually succeed in forcing organized governments into conceding into any needed demand, even if the farmers lose said revolt the common people wouldn't have any farmers to provide needed food to support big populations (especially true with places like China). Conversely this also means farmers could make an extremely powerful union in the modern world without the need of violence
