I'd say you're pretty spot on. But one thing that sets woke apart is that I don't think it can be passed off as ironic. Whereas based you can say in response to something said in either hyperbolic jest or earnestly.

Woke is either a label for oneself who can see certain ways the general system is rigged, or it is spun as an insult towards openly leftist practices, especially when it comes to corporations/globhomo. It feels like "Marxist" has become the new buzzword to replace "woke," even if both terms aren't always being attributed appropriately.

So while talking heads on Fox News may say "the woke democrats," I don't think you'll ever hear the pundits on CNN say "the based republicans" in the same manner.

Well, i guess i might have been wrong, but most of the time when i hear the word "based" being referenced in either mainstream media or more mainstream social media platforms, "redpilled" is usually also mentioned, and they are almost always credited with being a "4chan thing" (regardless if it is or isnt). And, as most of us probably know, most people (i.e normalfags and newfags) associate 4chan with racism, hacking, and even more racism. I guess in certain circles people might have started using the term even unironically with little to no regard of its origin, but from what i have seen the public opinion isnt very favorable. Besides, i doubt most people will even care whether or not it "came from 4chan" or not, they will just think its stupid and just leave it, like most "internet slang".
