[This is a tip I learned from a friend of my boyfriend who happens to work for big projects within TV, record labels and radio.]

When your work is finished, burn it on a disc/print it and mail it to yourself <3
This will prove that the media you are trying to protect is legal and belongs to you without having to spend incredible amounts of money at the copyright/patents office :)

I think just having a file is enough. all the metadata should be there to prove creation date and stuff

personally, I've been keeping a log of recording sessions since 2018. I wish I had been since I started but honestly never thought about it before then.
