Haven't seen much of it, but the IT Crowd seems fairly accurate.

What does Vaporwave mean to you?
Sounds and emotions from childhood memories I can't quite recall.

What subgenres are you most into?
I probably listen to Late Night Lofi, VHS Pop, and Mallsoft the most. But it's all pretty wonderful.
(I also listen to a lot of Synthwave, I especially like Dark Synthwave and Horrorsynth type stuff.)

How did you find out about this place?
Was reading about the Dead Internet Theory and found my way here

What do you do for fun?
I like building little electronics projects, cooking, and games.
And if I can find the time on a day with nice weather, about once a week I like to just spend an afternoon laying in the sun with my dog, some whiskey, and a cigar.

Authenticity. A representation of an expired era; a time when people were free to truly express themselves. It reminds me of better times, and gives me hope of a brighter future.

Uhhh.. I don't really watch sitcoms so I can't really answer that. The only one I ever did watch was in a foreign language and I'm not even sure it even counts as a sitcom now. -u-

What does Vaporwave mean to you?
Vaporwave to me is an aesthetic more than a music genre, though I still do recognize the music. I guess it's because I've always liked Vaporwave the aesthetic more than Vaporwave the music. It also relates into my personal music preferences I guess. I think the reasons why I never ended up getting too much into Vaporwave music is because I often saw Vaporwave mixes of 80s or 70s songs, for example, and, when listening to the original song, I preferred the original over the Vaporwave mix.

What subgenres are you most into?
If we're talking about Vaporwave and its subgenres, I'm not really into anything, as I mentioned before. However, if we're talking Retrowave in general, I like Synthwave and especially Chillwave a lot.

About music in general, I like I suppose 80s japanese pop, not necessarily city-pop, though many people like to put songs under that umbrella term. More specifically, soft rock, AOR and at times kayokyoku. Still, overall, I'm very versatile when it comes to music genres. ^u^

How did you find out about this place?
On one of my big Internet expeditions, I came across this site and a post on it. Unfortunately, I really can't remember where exactly I found it or what the post was, even though it was just yesterday. >v<

What do you do for fun?
I read, game and code for school and for fun. I also like learning about languages and linguistics, as a hobby.

What does vaporwave mean to you?
Not much honestly, I've never really been someone obssesed with this vaporwave "aesthetic". I enjoy it and it makes me feel relaxed.

What subgenres are you most into?
I don't really know. I just listen to stuff on spotify without checking the genre of the artist. If I like it, I save it. According to my spotify wrapped 2021 it was something along the lines of alternative rock and experimental rap, but I have no idea what that means.

How did you find out about this place?
I watched a video about a weird symbol that's related to some weird stuff (here is the video for anyone interested). Then I googled a phrase that I saw in the video and came across this subreddit, which seems to be just an internet puzzle for fun, and has a ton of tabs to various weird/creepy websites, including a post in this forum about some cannibalism website. I investigated this website a little bit and well, here I am.

What do you do for fun?
Of course, I'm into gaming and anime like I'm guessing most people here, but I'm also a really big fan of going to the gym and I'm really interested in sciense stuff, mainly astrophysics.

Hello guys, I may not be active in this forum but I lurk here from time to time and decided to make an account recently.
I know introducing myself here isn't necessary at all, and doubt that someone cares but fuck it.

I started being interested in vaporwave style at 12 years old, 6 (almost 7) years ago and at first I just made typical normie edits with dolphins and greek statues, but after a while I felt annoyed, even sometimes angry at my lack of creativity. So my style started to evolve into just experimenting with different transparency modes and color modifications- and it lead me to a high school with graphic design profile (In Poland you can go to 4-year technical school that is supposed to teach you profession you're interested in... in theory).
I'm really interested in modern surreal art- I listen to a lot of ecco jams, noise-core, jazz, eurobeat and old japanese city pop.
I'm self-aware that I go out of my way to listen to niche and least known music imaginable, in a hipster way.

What cancelled sitcom best describes your life?

Does Community count? I've only seen the first three seasons and laughed the whole time, which is pretty apt since I have: one, not seen my whole life all the way through, and two, have had a few good stories and laughs along the way.

What does Vaporwave mean to you?

I saw it described as a hauntology, a specter from which we can never quite escape. It was a genre first, then an aesthetic, and now, ironically, dwindling away into the ethereal half-remembered. Regardless of its trendiness, I still have a soft spot for it. NEWS AT 11 brought me to tears before I realized why.

What subgenres are you most into?

Of vaporwave? Chillwave and Synthwave probably come up the most on the daily, but I have a soft spot for the occasional Mallsoft track. What has, and still does get me, is anything revolving a Japanese weather broadcast. There are a few albums I've heard that I like, but I'm always down to find more.

(These days, I've also become deeply enamored by the Japanese weather station "Weather News"; Saya is the cutest!)

How did you find out about this place?

Dead internet theory. It just...hit different (If anyone wants a blast of that old internet past, I recommend checking out Hypnospace Outlaw on Steam! Well worth it.

What do you do for fun?

Video games, mostly. Play a lot of Final Fantasy 14, but I also play a lot of RPGs, strategy games, and some FPS. I'm relearning Korean at a glacial pace (I just need to get my butt back over there, or just finally commit to Japanese...), or when the stars align, playing DND or going to EDM shows.

Phew, That seemed like a lot for what was honestly not that much. Still, it'll be neat getting back into the habits of a forum.

Hey, I'm here because I'm really just craving the old internet and genuine communication through forum posting/ sharing ideas hopefully without it being infiltrated by either feds or some kind of hate group etc. it would be nice to be able to just talk about stuff and not have it either devolve into racism/ misogyny or be mislead by some black-project entity into taking the bait for a ridiculous and convoluted conspiracy theory in order to destabilize communication on the internet.
