Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum! Here are my responses to some of the suggested prompts!

What does Vaporwave mean to you?
Vaporwave to me is a great way to experience the nostalgia of a bygone era. The emotions that both the art and music evoke are really special to me, especially the use of early internet imagery and sounds. While admittedly I was born too late to experience most of it, it actually makes me appreciate these things more as I discover more and more about a past I missed out on.

What subgenres are you most into?
My favorite subgenres are Future Funk, Mallsoft, and Utopian Virtual.

How did you find out about this place?
Someone mentioned it to me in the Nightwave Plaza discord server.

What do you do for fun?
I love to write, garden, watch anime, and experiment with computers and retro tech.

My knowledge of sitcoms rather miserable at best, so nothing here...

What does Vaporwave mean to you?
Vaporwave is a free ticket to nostalgia city, where things are/were simpler, even if it's just the artists pulling my strings to believe that's the case.
Can't help but respect that sort of magic.
I'm not terribly deep into vaporwave as of yet, leaning more into synthwave, but maybe Agora Road will fix that and broaden my horizons.

What subgenres are you most into?
Let's go with future funk for now.

How did you find out about this place?
Came across this site quite some time ago when looking into dead internet theory. Yeah, original.
Took quite a while to register though, as I tend to lean more into lurking everywhere in the internet.

What do you do for fun?
Sometimes I wonder if I have any fun outside substance use, but let's say that I dabble with creative and technical projects to keep my gears grinding,
such as making noise with software synths. Have nothing to show of this, however, as my perpetual state of burnout tends to hamper any meaningful progress.
Running, cycling and meeting friends gives enough reason to go outdoors.
I also play video games and riichi mahjong from time to time in search of fun, with mixed results.

Probably big bang theory with me in the role of (dr.) Sheldon Lee Cooper. People used to always tell me that I was kind of like him. It took me multiple years to realize that was supposed to be a bad thing...

Chilling/Relaxing and a feeling of nostalgia

Play videogames, programm or spend time optimizing my linux install. Also I've started getting obsessed with collecting manga so probably I can count buying bookshelves now as something I do for fun

seen it namedropped on lainchan quite a few times until I decided to search for it, browsed it for a bit and now here I am. I really miss online forums, and it feels like this one is actually populated and active so hopefully I'll stick around.

What do you do for fun?
I enjoy making online friends. Other than that I fill my free time by reading manga or non-fiction books, play the occasional videogame, listen to music, procrastinate way too much (mostly by reading useless online discussions or watching long form videos).
I occasionally write small programs in python and try learning some japanese on and off (very slowly).

Maybe The Golden Girls. I have a lot of people tell me I'm an old soul and I can most certainly see it. I do act rather curmudgeonly sometimes, and I eat Special K. I can also see parts of all the characters in myself and it's always been one of my favourite shows.

What does Vaporwave mean to you?

I really like the aesthetic, and the whole Memphis design scheme in general, and I'm a pretty dang nostalgic person in general, so a lot of it is really interesting for me!

What subgenres are you most into?

I like mallsoft a lot. There's this one specific mix I'll link later if I can find it that I've seen on YouTube that I really love!

I forget exactly, but I think I saw a button on the Web-site of a participant.

The nostalgia of mid-2000 internethood edgy kids (scene, punk, emo kids, teens, tweens...) "who wanted to change the world".
Only then the web got normalized, boring and averaged out. Also, no free spaces for young people, NADA Naďa I could talk for ages XD
