I missed my second chance to get in the flag business and make bank on dumb rich libs thinking buying Chinese made flags is helping the effort through aWaReNeSs and sUpPoRt.

But seriously don't worry. If we get enough flags flying in Massachusetts the war will be over and the world will be healed. Just need to buy your flags!!!!

This war is the biggest example of "I support the current thing" I have ever seen. I am already seeing tons of people that don't even know any context saying the average: "Support Palestine", "End the fascist Israeli regime", and things like that.
I didn't think it was that big, but a lot of people have truly lost the ability to think beyond "good guys" and "bad fascists". It actually makes me a bit sad.

the destruction of israel was a righteous cause long before the phones. too bad nobody who wants it is gonna get what they want

if anything i'd wager the phones made the israelis far more psycho too. they are sounding WAY more unhinged than even 5-10 years ago

TBH it feels the opposite to me. The establishment seems shocked at their inability to manufacture consent and are panicking over the popular revolt they have on their hands and are taking all the wrong actions to address it when the Biden administration is already on shaky ground going into this election.

Idk a lot about the situation in America, but here in Spain I don't think it's like that

The media and tech giants haven't fully been able to get over Trump's victory in 2016. They REALLY like to think of themselves as the gatekeepers of information and that they ultimately decide what the public thinks. I'm not playing armchair psychologist, there really were pundits here who wrote articles scolding other pundits for 'allowing' Trump to get as far as he did prior to election day, even if obviously Clinton was gonna come out on top in the end. The creators of South Park made an entire episode called 'the First Husband' because they had already told people on their show not to vote for Trump and were so certain Clinton would win, and then had to completely remake it after Clinton lost. The massive wave of censorship and data collection increasing tenfold since Trump is a direct result of his victory - he proved beyond doubt that they didn't have as much control over what the public thinks as they thought they did. Since then they've been more paranoid and have attempted to compensate. Expect it to get even worse if Trump wins again next year.

I agree with this but also those same media wonks gave him endless fucking airtime because they thought laughing at him was the strat, which just put him in front of loads of people. If they'd actually blanked him they probably would have succeeded. They still do it now, they can't help it - the blind hatred just makes them act entirely counter to their own interests which is nuts.

I dont think this is comparable. The current thing is always pushed by every single organization in lockstep ranging from the government to the media. This issue is way more divided than Ukraine or Covid in terms of establishment messaging. If anything progressives not accepting the US government support of Israel is actually them sticking to their principles for once, its not the same as them being anti lockdown then pro lockdown when the messaging from the top changed.

yeah, I remember one of the big news stations here tried to devote a day to talking about non-trump stories after they got letters from viewers complaining about how monotonous it was getting, and they couldn't even do it, they couldn't resist talking about his most recent nonsense tweet. It doesn't help that since Trump had celebrity status he was used to dealing with the media and was very experienced when it came to manipulating them. It was shocking how they took his bait over and over and over again and seemed unable to just ignore him. None of the other republican candidates were even able to get much press coverage because nearly every moment on-air was dedicated to seething about Trump.

It's not just the establishment, I'm unsure if even the deep state could manufacturer a crisis to gain sympathy for involvement. Almost anyone already on the pro-Palestine/anti-zionist side is aware of the USS Liberty incident and wary of these tactics.

It is refreshing seeing so many people call out the bullshit lies and propaganda the establishment is trying to post, for once I don't feel like a lone crazy person noticing these things.

what the fuck is the endgame here, i legit do not see it. just chimping out for the sake of chimping out
Probably to lure Iran into joining the fight, and then the US in response, whose neocons have been champing at the bit to destroy Tehran for decades.

If Suleimani's assassination wasn't enough to lure Iran into the fight I doubt this will be enough either
Also I'm not certain the US has it in them to destroy Iran anymore - not because they don't have the military prowess, but because there isn't enough willpower among the conscripts. A draft would have nasty consequences domestically and those they did nab by it probably wouldn't be very motivated to fight.
