I actually just just finished replaying through SH 1-3 right before the announcement was made. They're some of my favorite games ever, and in my stupid conception represent the peak of what video games can do in a lot of ways. Like a lot of people, I'm not enthusiastic about the SH2 remake. A third-rate studio attempting to live up to the grandiose twenty year old expectations of idiots like me can only lead to misery. How can you possibly do it right? If you change something, then you've missed something. If you don't change anything, why wouldn't I just play the original? It's not like this is a game with technical problems or plays in some outmoded way. The only result is disappointment.
The other projects aren't interesting to me at all. Maybe they'll be good, maybe bad, but they'll probably never be magical to me like the first three games. That's my fault and I can't blame them for that. Maybe I can just blame Konami.
By the way, I have SH4, but I haven't played more than ten minutes of it since I bought it. I'm worried that the first person segments will make me nauseous, since the opening already did. Are there many of these in the game? Should I just power through? Half the people I talk to say that the game is total shit, and the other half say it's shit worth revering.
