The Where did /x/ migrate to? thread has been kicking around in the back of my mind for a few days now, and since it's spooky season I'm very into the idea of trying to find some of those old school conspiracy/paranormal documentaries from the late 90's early 00's. Problem is, while I'd certainly know it if I saw it, I'm finding it hard to come up with names for any of these kind of programs which makes it more challenging to find them. One I have been able to come up with is A Haunting in Connecticut which aired in 2002 on Discovery, and served as something of a pilot for their "A Haunting" series that came a few years later. I have a distinct memory of an even older TV program where the basic thesis was that praying mantises are actually alien life - evidenced by how strange they are and virtually nothing else. There was also the random documentaries about freemasons and such that The History Channel would use to punctuate the endless marathons of WWII specials they would show back before they got into the reality TV business.

Do you have any favorite shows about ghosts, cryptids, aliens, secret cabals, etc.? Share them so we can all get spooky this October!

If Youtube videos count:

I've always been interested in the idea of secret tunnels under the Sphinx or in the Great Pyramid. Here's a video that argues for their existence:

Absolutely count! And can't believe I forgot to include Egyptology in the original post, definitely some interesting and amusing stuff there. This looks great!

I like the YouTube channel The Lore Lodge. I've been staying in National Parks in my RV for the past four months, and been watching his videos about disappearances in the national parks. Spooky stuff!

The Why Files is basically just this as a youtube channel, hell it's even scripted and presented like a network TV show. It goes through "conspiracy theories" in a skeptical, but undismissive lense, usually consisting of two halves: the first being the 100% "conspiratory" story telling, wherein every stories told about said theory is true and unquestioned, then come the second half, where known facts are presented as-is, and any contradictory is examined -- some call it the debunking segment.

Do note that the show has a bias towards the extraterristial/ancient alien stuffs while generally against the esotheric. On the other hand, the show is somewhat lenient on matters psychic, so YMMV
