agreedNo. All of it is bad.

Honestly the porn aspect is worse. Masturbation depletes you of energy and can fry your rewards system whereas porn gives you brain damage by preventing brain development. Porn also causes problems with social development as well as rape, divorce, domestic violence, pedophilia (etc). Porn can literally destroy a person from the inside-out. That being said discouraging masturbation should definitely be a thing. In fact I propose relabelling it "self-abuse" as masturbation is simply too neutral a term. The woke crowd is right when it says the language you use matters as it can impact public perception. Calling masturbation what it is, that is self-abuse (or perhaps spiritual-self-abuse or some other similar term) would probably do wonders for society. Why does everyone talk about pornography? I would have thought that masturbation would be the bigger problem.
Placebo is real.Is this all placebo or is it real?". Well last week I got my answer. I went on a journey to Ireland where I learned that these benefits are 100% real.
No because prior to it, I thought it was fine and had all kinds of issues. All of which disappeared with a self-image boost and I'm not the only one reporting this. The eye contact thing has been reported by many on the nofap subreddit as well as other related online communities. You can't have that many people reporting this without there being some kind of truth to it. Where there is smoke there is fire.Placebo is real.
Just believing that it helps you does actually help you, especially with things affecting mindset. mood and motivation.
That's also why prayers and homeopathics work despite them having no reason to work.
At the same time, nocebos work too. If you really believe that masturbating/porn are bad for you, then participating will make the negative effects worse because it will fill you with guilt and remorse.
As I said, placebo IS a real thing, it's acknowledged by modern medicine and well documented. The old granny going to the doc 7 times a month because of her pain doesn't get demolished with actual pills (well in the US maybe lol) but just gets these homoepathic sugar pills wiht literally 0 active substances in them but they do help her pain relief because she thinks her was helped and this is reported by hundred of thousands of patients who take these fake pills. They ofc believe that they work and aren't just placebos to pacify them. The pills usually have clever names and stuff so that it appears to be legit. No because prior to it, I thought it was fine and had all kinds of issues. And nofap is no different. If you really believe that fapping holds you back then stopping it will help you, simple as. And that's why all the people who're already subscibed to the idea that nofap helps will of course report that it does.
These studies have been found to be lacking in quality.Watching pornography rewires the brain to a more juvenile state - Neuroscience News
From eroding the prefrontal cortex, an area of the brain critical for impulse control, to damaging the dopamine reward system, researchers evaluate the impact of viewing pornography on the brain.neurosciencenews.com
Nope. The brain damage is confirmed by brain scans. Although I should state I don't like that article as it claims those old pagan dieties were pornographic (they were not).
Well already you got a date problem in so far as that article was written in 2015 and most of the stuff I have is from after that time. I have two books talking about this in detail. This article talks about porn as if it's the 70s and it was just topless women. Although I should stress that topless women is also not a good thing. Anyway the problem with the article is that it goes on about "teh soyence" and how anti-porn is based largely on anecdotes and moral arguments. As if they have no value. If science is based on testing and observation then surely isn't anecdotes enough? That's how a court of law works afterall. Get enough witnesses and make a judgement from there. People test this on themselves and come out with positive results. That being said I suppose one could try testing it out on people who never even heard about the dangers of porn. That would perhaps answer the question. But even if we assume that these benefits are all made up you do have to take moral considerations into account. Even if we assume that this doesn't fix up a lot of self image problems you still have to take into account that it causes rape and other social problems. When I was 16 I knew a guy who admitted to having fantasies of raping every woman he met. What porn does is that it individualises the sexual drive and makes it less about bonding and procreation and more about physical release. Hell the entire point of abstaining from porn is to lower your libido for the purpose of being able to talk to women easier as you won't have constant sexual thoughts. Libido reduction is a good thing. A very good thing. These studies have been found to be lacking in quality.
The NoFap Phenomenon
There's nothing new about this fight against self-love.www.psychologytoday.com
I might just have a hard time buying into it since it never hindered me in getting into relationships and I know many who also just like most males just consume porn nearly every day and that are just normal, functioning members of society with jobs and intact relationships. I think outside of a full blown porn addiction there's nothing wrong with it but that applies to basically every form of pleasure. Overeating and getting fat, internet/video game addiction, drug addictions, gambling. Food, porn, vidya, internet, gambling, drugs, all of these get handled without danger by most people. Even in your article it said that it's always proportionate with use so someone watching 3 hours a day will of course turn out wierd compared to jacking off to a 5 minute clip.Well already you got a date problem in so far as that article was written in 2015 and most of the stuff I have is from after that time. Those five minute clips may not be as damaging on an individual level but it can still result in increased desire which can cause relationships to breakdown (this is especially bad if the person has kids). Although it is kind of impossible to avoid the softcore stuff as a lot of pop music these days is just softcore porn (and hence why I don't listen to much of it). Hence why a cultural shift is required.I might just have a hard time buying into it since it never hindered me in getting into relationships and I know many who also just like most males just consume porn nearly every day and that are just normal, functioning members of society with jobs and intact relationships. Assuming you can use it in a "healthy" way market mechanisms will still inevitably create increasingly degenerate material which can destroy society. It needs to be banned in order to stop the mechanism. Also here's a great video on the subject:It amazes me to watch people use porn and masturbation as a scapegoat.
>I can't have real relationships!
>I don't have motivation!
>It ruins my mood and thoughts!
>It stops me from exercising!
Have you ever considered that you're just a lazy, unsociable, unmotivated person with a warped perception on what relationships should be? Just because you're unsatisfied with some aspect of you're life you want to blame it on something humans have been doing for tens of thousands of years? Talk about copium!
Or, if you want me to take the gentler approach, that you're using porn/masturbation as a coping mechanism in an unhealthy way and just because you're using it in and unhealthy way doesn't mean that other's are using it in an unhealthy way?

pls daddy goverment, govern me harder!Assuming that having the freedom to eat whatever food you want can be healthy, market mechanism will inevitablely create worse and unhealthier food options. The freedom to eat food of your choosing needs to be banned in order to stop this from happening.
Food and porn are not equivalent at all. This is just a sign of what industrial society does to people. Where food becomes just another commodity on a par with various ills. And I mean the government here already does that. The gov will ban certain items and put taxes on items deemed bad for the public. Hell we've actively turned down an American trade deal (one of the biggest sticking points of leaving the EU) because the public knows American food is toxic and doesn't want it in the country. Not even the majority of the leave vote wanted an American trade deal and we're fortunately unlikely to get one. I fail to see the problem with this.Assuming that having the freedom to eat whatever food you want can be healthy, market mechanism will inevitablely create worse and unhealthier food options. I think the case against porn doesn't stick because it doesn't appear to be unhealthy enough apparently. Aside from some super loners who get really hard into it, there's not much different than alc or tobacco. Many do it, only some are actually crippled by it.Food and porn are not equivalent at all.
