I've heard bubblegum crisis' OST, it bangs. Is the anime good too?
Yes, it is, specially it is quite aesthetic, you can't get it more 80s than that.

Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator:

This is what happens when American anime nerds get their hands on a budget, developers who know what they're doing, and are allowed to make a JRPG. Takes a lot of inspiration from Battle Angel Alita (seriously, the starting area is really just Scrap Iron City with the serial numbers filed off), Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind, and some cyberpunk anime. The end result wasn't... y'know, good, but I think it does more things right than it does wrong, and it's had a huge impact on my own writing.

Very interesting. Seems like prime material to make a video on.

Oh, what kind of videos do you make?
They're comedic reviews of obscure games, at least that's the approach I generally work with. I strive for high visual polish and having a punchy, fun narration over everything else. If you're interested in watching some of my vids you can click on my signature and it'll take you to my channel. I recommend you watch the newest one as its objectively the best one I've made yet.

Btw the game was super cheap on steam so I've already bought it and will give it a spin down the line.

Thank you for opening up a thread that allows me to spam my life's passion, Soma. :JahySmug: I look forward to abusing this.

This OP probably represents about 70% of everything that gets me hyped about an anime. Its hard to explain, but, even though I will admit it has its flaws, RE:Creators is one of my favorite anime's of all time.

Speaking about series where anime becomes real, I've just got to share this legenday scene:
Omagawd, I understand what they were trying to do literarywise - kinda cool, actually, I am a sucker for all shit meta, as a child of postmodernism, but this totally amusing tryhard dramatic delivery is so... anime.
Japanese culture and basic human emotions. Still not very very friendly with each other, huh.
I don't know, maybe it's your brain on anime - when people are so used to teenage fiction norms, that they are starting to be impressed by something as mundane as Odd Taxi dialogues - kid you not, I have read dithyrambs sung for them
Oh, and calling them realistic
Well, grumpy me aside,

ANYWAY:

What are Odd Taxi dialogues?

I meant recent anime series Odd Taxi. Actually, I can (and I will!) recommend it to anyone. It is a modern detective story, no fantasy, no scifi. All main characters are adult and most situations are grounded and believable. It has a clear idea, also has a rare beast in anime - an ending, satisfying and coherent one (plus more - it ends, but not really with something unrevealed or a cliffhanger, but with a possibility of a continuation or a new story)
So it is written more like a western live action show - that's why dialogues can be perceived as realistic- because they are not anime-ish. But I just didn't saw that - I think they are too heavy written, like it's palpable - their writteness, too theatrical and slick/witty on purpose to be realistic.
Which is not bad, of course, but hey

As corny as it may sound, Hajime No Ippo is what got me to get into boxing in 2018 and that eventually led me to pick up BJJ. One day I just got up as an insecure nerd and walked into the local boxing gym.
Right now I've never been in better shape before (both physically and mentally) and I got some stupid shonen to thank for that so whenever I see Hajime No Ippo or hear its soundtrack I feel incredibly motivated.

Also Ismai Cosmo from Kengan Ashura is my idol

Wasn't it always kind of silly and over the top?
I mean the whole premise is tbh
I mean, sure, but there's a difference between being silly and over the top versus the brain aneurysm we have today.
