And it honestly was something that was gonna happen sooner or later. The massive power of the net was gonna be seen sooner or later by corps. The only solution is creating our own place like this. Neocities, Agora Road, Lainchan, personal webs, this whole "indie web" is the best solution, evn if it sucks. The best thing we can do is spread technopositivism again, but a return to the "good old days" is impossible
- if so, lets go!
lets make art movement!
i will start thread, for the sake of it
if we cant return, we can "make our own" then
as opposition of Google minimalism, neo-memphis and roundness (ugly)
protest art-form!

I mean, 90% of the appeal of the old web for most people was the sheer chaos. Trying to introduce order will only backfire.

My idea was spreading alternative art with technopositivism and other themes across the indie web, and keeping Agora kinda out of this so that this doesnt become Yesterweb 2.0. While I don't expect this to become a big movement across the web, I was hoping that it would spread across the indie web, since even in it technopositivism is dissapearing a bit

Best way to go is probably to create a Neocities site kinda like what Sadness initially did with the yesterweb.

so this says, it was just people "getting space"
then i guess, we can just make stickers/banners "old-web's back, alright!"
/half-joking ~ we cant just return - it was said, - people changed themselves | we might miss it, but then, those kids born cca 2007 newer experienced any of that...

I don't want order. It's promoting an artstyle. Promoting this kind of art will make the web better. Technopositivism is one of the reasons old aesthetics have so much nostalgia around them.

That's one of the main steps. Showing this style to more people across the indie web can also help

I think your motivation is flawed to begin with. You believe that kids need to see the old web, but you got to remember even before the globohomo, most "normies" that did used the web only pretty much only browsed early social media sites and checked meteo. Those that did use the web were the curious type, the "nerds".

Nowadays, said "nerds" who are curious enough are just on HeySpace.

And to who you want to promote it exactly? As already discussed "normies" are out of the equation, so I guess the best would try to target those that would like the indie-web.

I don't really want to target this to kids. I was thinking to promote it in the indie web, "nerd fandoms" (Lain, spacehey scene kids, etc...), and all of the indie web in general

Welcome(2).

This is my new webpage. I made it for my all links. Why? Because
why not. (Who I play with, I am so lonely...)

Well, it was my fault. Being such wet blanket, so undecisive, so
"unrooted" to anything.
Not believing in anything (and anybody, huh) brings, with freedom,
the sense of belonging - to nothing. No ground. Nothing. Just my
self.

But I lie. There is nothing, then there is no Me. I define as
what, if I believe in no(-)thing and no one? Clown.
(I) Make everyone to laught, but myself. I want to forget myself.
All the mistakes. All coulds. All those times...

Too afraid to do anything. No friends, Just being there. But my
fault. I wanted ("no") help, - but "if you are friends with
everyone, there is something wrong with you." Exquisite
/sarcasm.

-···-

Heh, guilt-trip. By myself. What a gift. Prolly thing that keeps
me still going on, even when I do (rather) nothing.
"Fausting" around? IDK TBH how to end this overthinking, this post
even. Bye then, I guess, mleh. Feels bland; bad, maaan...

I can delete this thread if it is bullshit
I just wanted to (blatantly) start new artistic idealism (that, being naiive dreamer from my side)
Something that would be counter-push/balance, opposing "blobferity" of modern web, design "agenda" of m3.material.io - Material Design
- and, that is, - maybe (even!) force-feed this "movement" , as big-G does - to those whose hearts lie elsewhere (from big-G) - ...
-- at cost of becoming what i hate, "just for noble cause", to save *normiedom* from themselves -
--- that now, looking back to this idea - is both wrong, dirty, and contradictory/contrarian of that what i stand and, started this all ado about...

This sounds really interesting! I think techno-positivism is important, though I think it's also still prudent to be wary, especially of new forms of tech. But I think this could be a really cool project!

Also wanted to chime in on how I haven't seen any articles about how ALL interactive elements are rounded corners with slightly lighter backgrounds the past two years. I guess I'll write one!

i know it is "fake", to push, force things...
it is only, that if we cant do shit, we should enjoy it or at least, minimalize suffering!
(how can West blame 3rd-world countries, if they only had to make their eco-green-homo-lib... part!? sounds so hypocritical to do so! they barely started to develop their "personality", yet, you should rather help them to do "your dream", green and wet... than to wait for them to do so, "to be left behind"! if this is true, then it seems, there is some huge profit in this hypocrisy! like, not helping, yet blaming! so simple, and disgusting!!! ... to (just suppose:) make money out of in-fights , within those countries, by selling guns --- or something similarly messed up... !!! (can you imagine? or i just see everything very cynically?)

"Upgrade people upgrade"
The history of corp. design is saddening. Once passionate people losing their power or will for a mainstreamed product. Artist getting not appreciated, rediscovered and capitalized.

There is a new evolution of mobile screen interaction (I forgot). Once resembling physical buttons (icons) now get abstracted into even more obscure and unrecognisable meta menus. And it appears to me, people are getting better at bloating those UIs than optimizing.

Imagine loading one website of today with the old Internet contract
