There is a new evolution of mobile screen interaction (I forgot). Once resembling physical buttons (icons) now get abstracted into even more obscure and unrecognisable meta menus. And it appears to me, people are getting better at bloating those UIs than optimizing.

The history of corp. design is saddening. Once passionate people losing their power or will for a mainstreamed product. Artist getting not appreciated, rediscovered and capitalized.

every single online artist is captured entirely by patreon/other crowdfunders, or has put themselves at the mercy of bitcoin donors, or is just straight hooked into a think tank. doesn't matter what you draw or make, it seems

Agreed but it would be a big ask for the average creative™ in the current year. Today every artist has to make it their job so they are very susceptible to selling out and even worse to not caring since it doesn't make them money or increases their online presence. AI could maybe be leveraged but considering how rabid people on the web become at the sight of AI it might backfire.
