So, I m kinda new to Internet since I think I began to go on internet for me and to discover new things last year, in September. So I consider me like extremely new on that but internet is for me so fascinating and I would really like to know much more about it. What interest me today are cool dead websites, with kind of an original presentation. But everything else interest me of course. So, if you are kind of a master of internet x), I would be glad that you give me some great resources :D

here is a old website and is actually active, i would love to show you old flash games but since the mayor web browsers stopped suporting it most games are more difficult to access. In the mid to late 2000´s they where very popular here is a website dedicated to archives them and make them accesible: http://www.flashgamearchive.com/ . One of the most popular is fancy pant adventures: https://www.1001juegos.com/juego/fancy-pants-adventure-world or the "madness combat" flash animations/flash games they released over the years very fun and they run in your web browser even if you have a toaster for computer. Fhash games where a big part for me during my early days of using internet and i remember them fondly.

Its kinda sad to me that most people's understanding of the Internet only comes from sites which basically remove the need for you to go anywhere else. The exploration aspect and the fun of making whatever you want of the Internet is fading pretty fast with corporatiojs making most websites now. Take wix for example
All website have become pretty homogenous and ad hoc under the thumb of Wix.

SM like FB basically had all the sorts of things people used the Internet for in one spot, meaning you never had to leave.

I actually was gonna do a thread like this at one point because it is actually pretty hard to work out how to find cool stuff on your own now

Here are a few things that can get you started
First, alternative search engines. Google has become practically useless in the past 10 years because it tends to just index the same sites over and over again. https://wiby.me/ is a search engine that only indexes minimalist websites. These sites are very quick to load and have no popups, or cookies, or anything like that. Very useful if you just want to look something up. https://searx.space/ is a listing of instances of an open source search engine called Searx. You can also use Quant. Basically, stop using Google entirely. It's useless and it tracks you. Google is more interested in showing you ads and selling your data than it is actually being a useful tool.
The other thing I can recommend is Neocities. It's a replacement for Geocities and it's very similar. There are many old style websites there. One more thing I can recommend is that when you find an old style site, look for link dumps. These sites tend to link you to similar sites.
