I created this topic to upload and share your favourite and distinct textbook covers on the occasion of this tweet. I could imagine a calculus textbook using a cat or a dragon, orelly books(You need to be into programming to understand what i say) using animals and deitel programming books with some ants enjoying stuff.

My junior year English textbook (that we used like twice lmao) was just a bunch of low res jpegs of people tapping on a futuristic holographic interface that said "reading is the future" or something. I tried searching for it but couldnt find it :(

This is pushing 'textbook' a bit, but to hell with it. I always really liked the Oxford Very Short Introduction covers, I can't speak for the quality of the books because I only half read one on economics and gave up on that to flick through an actual economics textbook instead -- still don't know very much about economics though.
The covers express that the books only give you an impression of the subject through the minimalism, and they are somewhat related to the subject at least. Of course the sun is orange yeah yeah, but look at epidemiology showing what looks like a field, and the strong dichotomy on the cover of British politics.
Without further ado, here are a couple of my favourite looking covers from all the ones easily found near the top of Google Images.
