I think a fool in any other sense is typically an insult. If someone's being a fool that usually means they're unaware of something. There are people who are great at being fools and do it well, I think we all need to sometimes, but usually in situations that are uncertain.

Being a fool for Christ or God or whoever makes a lot of sense. We don't know much about that realm or how it works, our only option is to play the fool.
