Went to watch it the other day with friends. Was the story complete nonsense? Yes.
Was the movie an accurate depiction of the game? Not at all.
Were the references to internet and gaming culture outdated and something an out of touch 60 year old Hollywood writer would write? Absolutely.
Was the pacing complete ADHD zoomer brainrot? Yup.
Was there sexual tension between Black and Momoa's characters? For some reason, yes.
Did I have fun? Also yes. This movie even got a couple genuine laughs out of me, where I was laughing at the funny moments rather than at the film, which I wasn't expecting at all.
Do I recommend it? Hard to say, on one hand it is objectively one of the worst films (and adaptations) ever made, on the other hand I had a good time with my friends and found it quite enjoyable, I was never bored and I'll admit it even left me wanting for more. This film doesn't feel real. I think the closest thing I can compare it to is a kid's version of Freddy Got Fingered, an absolute dreck of a comedy film hated by critics that's fun to watch if you like absurd humor and stupid shit in general, with very little care for story. That's not exactly a high praise, I know, but I didn't come out of the theater hating this film, which is more than I was expecting from the initial trailer, so it gets a pass from me.

PS: Still better than the Snow White demake

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that this movie will be successful. Not just because of hundreds of thousands of families with clueless kids who wouldn't know a good narrative if it shot them in the head, but also because of the countless hate-watches that people will do. Call me pessimistic, but pieces of shit like this have a tendency to make money where people really, really don't want them to.
I told you so.

It's precisely this negative press that made this profit possible. Remember that now.

Not very good. Mostly reference based humour. A handful of the jokes landed, but most missed. The VFX is great but it doesn't redeem the movie. There's also a lot of inconsistencies with the game. It's acceptable, if you have kids who are a fan of Minecraft I'd even recommend it, but it's not gonna blow your socks off. I definitely think it does better with a Cinema Audience due to how the audience responds and interacts with it, rather than as a movie on its own.
Worth rewatching? No

This whole CHICKEN JOCKEY meme I've been seeing all over the internet with people going apeshit in theaters seems like some meme marketing gimmick that went terribly wrong, now cops are getting involved.

Went and saw this with my family. It really wasn't good but it was a movie for children so it's whatever. It was wild hearing Jack Black rip the N-word twice in a row out of nowhere, but otherwise I wasn't surprised.

It wasn't out of nowhere. It had a purpose in the plot. Jack Black made it very clear 30 minutes in that "The Gamer Word" held immense power in his world.

The part where he loads villagers onto minecarts and rolls them into a replica Auschwitz, however, was an odd choice. It really caught me off guard, and didn't add much to the story.

And I don't buy their excuse.
"Oh it was supossed to be purple, but it turned white" when the whole scene feels outta pocket in the first place. I know the basics about Minecraft and I still don't remember endermen having hallucination superpowers like they do in the movie. This is completely intentional, but they say it's not because they're afraid of accidentally annoying mojang I reckon.

legit crazy that the official Chick Fil A twitter account replied humorously to it, you'd think they'd hold some standards to whats basically public disorder.
