Here's a fascinating video on the burgeoning field of texture archaeology, the process of searching for the original sources of textures in old videogames. Interestingly, there are many specific textures that are shared between many games, such as the brick graphic in the video. An interesting little rabbit hole to go down.

I might know of a similar thing to this: there is this sample of bird chirping I hear everywhere now, I first noticed it when I played the first mission of the first Arma and it really stuck out to me for no reason. After that, I swear I have heard that exact same sample in at least two or three other games.
