Contemporarily this kind of dance compilation would've been shown on something like MTV. It's a sanitized light pornography from a time before internet pornography was widely available. It's the fact this would've been shown on live TV where there's no pause function or rewind, that you may only ever see it once.
There's something about a bunch of 20 somethings gyrating and trying to look cool which really fills me with a feeling I can't describe. Maybe it's because some are on party drugs. Maybe it's because some of them are paid actors. Maybe because some of them could be dead now or old and ill with aching joints from a life of partying.
