the existence of these kind of emotions is verifiable.
Of course, I am not arguing that; I also reached out to peers from college and, despite not having been in the US for decades now, they feel the need to have a meltdown about a country they will probably never return to, all based on their social media feeds. This particular comment section though felt extremely performative, as if someone had to comment how bad this is, but their actual sentiment behind it was more "whatever," and there is a clear discrepancy between the general tone and the words used, for lack of a better analysis. The guy going "I live in the Twilight Zone now" seemed almost dissapointed, as if he expected something more badass to have occured. I sense many folks are overdramatising their reactions as a form of post-virtuesignalling. Of course, there are people who have genuinely been grinded down by the constant barrage of fearmongering, and it is only reasonable following that input to act in that way.

I maintain that the best course of action for these people's mental health is to take the L, continue their bullshit online political activism, and wait until Trump is out of the picture for good, when the world won't have ended and nothing earth-shattering will have happened.

EDIT: I missed sniping, just like Trump's would-be assassin. History repeats itself.

The moment I realised this was when the war in Ukraine started. It was a masks off moment, I thought they had a sort of adult posture before, if a bit juvenile, but then the war started and the comparisons to voldemort/thanos/darth vader etc started flowing. Combined with the sudden unashamed amount of xenophobia against Russians and everyone who was favourable towards them, it showed me how ridiculously hypocritical and easily manipulated these people actually are.
The important thing to understand is that it's like that from the both sides. Every propaganda, no matter how complex, aims for the lowest, most basic human feelings: implanting into your brain a sense of righteousness, rage against the common enemy (be it The Deep State or The Global West or Project 2025), the main character syndrom (through analogies with fictional books and movies or the great wars and heroes of the past), whataboutism as a mean to normalise your country's destructive behavior and low quality of live ("if America bombed Iraqi civilians, why shouldn't we be allowed to bomb Ukraine if it's in our national interests?"), the sense of community and belonging to a greater cause (works well on lonley and depressed, which is the main demographics throughout young people today). There is no right side in an informational war - you either participate and become a gullible idiot supporting/opposing the current thing like everyone else, or you don't participate.

some die-hard democrats on the net are starting to blame American Arabs and Muslims for not voting for kamala, no wonder they didn't vote for you fuckers. its really funny when the average "anti-racist" liberal starts to say some racist shit when stuff doesn't go their way

I have enough to worry about being Asexual,
Ya you have a ton to worry about. Being asexual is much more work than anything you could possibly imagine. I'm going to write to Trump and get you a presidential pardon so you never have to do anything strenuous again. Seriously shut the fuck up already. Say what you have to say without turning everything into your fucking retarded self imposed disability.

Anyways....its hard to imagine these retards are real. I can't fathom the level of intelligence required to get to this point of retardation. If your husband is crying over the election his real issue is the dicks he's looking at when you aren't looking bitch. Unreal.

Been watching my libshit "friends" cope and seethe, (unknowingly?) saying quite nasty things about me in our once lovely and apolitical discord.
(I'm staying out of it.)

A couple of them at least seem aware Harris was an awful canidate, but bizarrely think that cringe pedo-lookin' Walz is impressive and should have been a bigger part of the campaign? :ghostWut:

They also, clearly, have no comprehension of why people would vote for Trump. Just assuming it's racism.

And they have no clue what Trump's platform even is. The most angry and irrational dipshit (he always did have anger issues) unironically says he's going to make an appointment to get a vasectomy because he's afraid Republicans are going to ban it. :LaughHard:

Anyways, here's some random salt:

That last tweet inadvertently makes the guy sound hard as fuck.

Also funny that they equate things that haven't happened and won't ever happen, with the rampant inflation and price surges that are inarguably a result of Democratic Party policies, while trying to severely downplay the latter.

By the way, I don't have a dog in this fight. Republicans also had lulzy meltdowns in 2020, but nothing like this. Imagine hailing yourself as the paragon of virtue and tolerance only to call your proud latinx community members fucking spics because they dared not fall in line with a candidate brought into the picture three months before elections.

We are witnessing screenshots and TikTok of pure kinography.

Much of this seetheposting is incredibly funny to me- the only exception is the image that has been going around about the male loneliness epidemic being a good thing. That level of genuine vitriol for (entirely innocent) young men is a large part of why they lost, and thank god for that fact.

Anyways, here's some random salt:
Van Jones was like this is 2016 after Hillary lost on the night of the election and I felt like he was even worse. He was on CNN at 2AM saying something like "Now I go home in a few hours, and get my kids off to school, and I don't know what I'm going to tell them. This is Trump's America now."

Since I've only been an adult from the prevalence of Trump forward, I wonder if the next election season democrats will be so knee-jerk horrified of the next republican nominee. A lot of the outrage I see online for this election specifically I do think is manufactured; less-so in the interest of making one party or another look like shit, and more-so for personal clout. But then there's some undoubtably genuine outrage that actually kind of blows me away.

Oh well the presidency isn't about policy more than it's about a culture war to be had every 4 years. Fucking Roe v. Wade and affirmative action were both overturned during a blue presidency is about how useful a president is.

Someone from my company's diversity committee sent out an email to all employees announcing a "listening event" to "support colleagues who are hurting profoundly". I'm disappointed I can't post the whole thing here because every detail is so horribly melodramatic and the replies are even worse.
