It really sucks they won't use Joe Rogan. TBH it is going to be a brain melting shit show. I can't wait to see Biden lose his shit on stage because Trump is calling him names. Honestly, there is going to be so many good clips out there.

But otherwise I am not too optimistic about the outcome of the debate. Trump is going to call Biden a socialist, a communist, or an "ANTEEFAH", and Biden will have to defend himself saying he doesn't support anything but capitalism and cops. Biden will always be on the back foot, and Trump will find a way to weasel himself out of any tough questions.

Don't get me wrong, I don't support either candidates. Neither are anti-consumerist or anti-capitalist.

I just remember how in 2016 Trump brutalized Jeb Bush, and how he invited those girls that Bill had an affair with to the debates. I wonder how is he gonna top that this time.

Frankly, I'm awfully close to the state of needing to douse my TV in gas so I can set the effin' thing on FIRE.

I'll consider watching. But I don't like this. I feel as if I don't have a choice here. And Trump's antics are making things very dicey out in Middle America right now, and some of those people he's riling up are arming themselves to the teeth in anticipation of either a legion of 10,000 Antifa descending on rural towns (definitely NOT likely) or kicking off a civil war because Orange Man told them to, or got his QAnon West Wing office (uh...yeah, very real, sadly...a great example of a Roger Stone-style Nixon-era False Flag psyop, though) to tell them. And I don't feel like watching things degenerate further because of some malignant narcissist's weird self-image issues.

In exactly 5 hours and 17 minutes the debates will start. I can't wait to see this shit show. Hopefully Biden's dementia doesn't make him go full autismo mode. DKFail

So it went as expected. Extremely poorly. Pretty sure no one won that debate.
There was no sense of order, both candidates were interrupted over and over again by each other. Total shitshow, and there are still 2 more debates, and ANOTHER one with the Vice President candidates. After what we saw yesterday we know what to expect for the upcoming debates. PepSiDawgwitcan

And of course, "shitshow" is precisely what Dana Bash on CNN called it. Yes, that exact word, on air.

I'm horrified. Just...fucking...horrified. I'm seriously thinking that I DEFINITELY need to renew my passport now and be ready to dip at a moment's notice.

I am (still) ashamed to be an American. On the world stage we look even more like that house down the street where the cops are up at least once a week and the people there yell at each other on front lawn.

Actually, a lot of the rest of the world has been giving the USA the skunk-eye for a long time. I can recall being in London and Amsterdam back in late winter, 1987, on a chamber choir tour. People would think, on seeing us, "ugh...typical Americans". Until they found out that we were highly skilled and trained musicians...then they universally felt SORRY for us.

The world isn't being fooled. This is Lincoln's "you can fool some of the people all of the time...", but on a global and very immediate scale. But at the same time, the internal conflicts here are becoming so high-strung that I know a number of people who're arming themselves, having felt for the first time the real pressure to do so in case things descend into shooting and the like after the November 3rd election.

The last time I can think of that I felt this level of disorganized, chaotic FEAR in the American populace was probably the summer of 1968, when both MLK and RFK got assassinated literally weeks apart, and cities were going up like dry tinder. This is not good. And it's worth noting that I was all of 6 back then...and I'm 58 now, and just as scared as before.
