Use this thread to discuss U.S. Politics and etc.

I sincerely apologize for creating this thread. Please do not post here.

This post has been edited to reflect the thread's new scope.
I was suprised to see no one made a thread about this yet, hopefully this'll be a good one.

The 2024 U.S. Presidential election is shaping up to be even more contentious than 2020. Some conservatives are acting like Trump has it in the bag while polls claim a more even split. Additionally, rumors are arife that Biden will drop out of the race at some point ad be replaced by Michelle Obama. We're not even that close to the actual election yet and things are already crazy!

Obviously we can't predict the results this far out... but let's try anyway. Use this thread to share news, speculate on the results and their implications, and so on.

I think the democrats are gonna ride with Biden. They're powering up the propaganda machine, their gonna gaslight rich liberals with combative rhetoric, bait progressives with a promise of a cease in Gaza, and tease economic relief to the poor, but it's mostly gonna be about "preserving democracy". I think the Democrats don't have the balls to do a switch because it might alienate people if they just pick a person at the convention. I think if Biden wasn't gonna run he would have just done what everyone else did and just say he is not gonna pursue a second term. All I know is that it's gonna be a shit show, and probably not even an entertaining one. I think it's gonna be a grueling couple of months but I hope I'm wrong. The best case scenario is Trump falls into a coma, republicans can't replace him, and he wins anyway, or the same with Biden.

Trump vs Biden 2. Will be interesting to watch play out, both candidates have alienated their bases significantly (Biden backing Israel against Palestine, and Trump boasting about his roll in Operation Warpspeed vaccine development), I think RFK Jr. will do better than people expect for a third party candidate.

I'm a democrat, but sincerely wish others could've ran against Biden. I understand he's the incumbent,
But that man's age am scares me.
At this point I'm on the I guess I stand with him train like they did Hilary when she ran. And there's enough MAGA diehards that I think may get -45 back in office. None of those others candidates hold a candle to the John Gotti of politics. And I watch their debates with as much open mindedness as I could,
But they really look like a circus on stage.
After what they did to Bernie in '16, why are you still with the party?
Additionally, rumors are arife that Biden will drop out of the race at some point ad be replaced by Michelle Obama.
LOL. He already flat out said he's not going to run. There's a higher chance of Biden getting 25th'd and Kamala being their pick.

Either way, nothings going to happen until the deep state boomers start dying off. The '30s are going to be an interesting time in American politics. I wager Christian Theocracy as a reactionary move, and a flip right back to the left when everyone realizes what that system of beliefs really means for them.

Honestly don't believe Biden is running things rn, so him falling into a coma won't change anything.
As for Trump, dude is lively AF right now, but he's surrounded by wolves; if he's elected and then go down the power vaccum can be explosive

By the time my state voted on primaries, almost everyone already dropped out of the running - pretty annoying really.

Yeah, this year is going to be so boring. Geriatric Boomer vs Geriatric Boomer. Yawn. You're right that the 30s will be far more fun once the boomers are dead and we deal with the poorly trained successors.

There are many (even here on Agora) who unironically support Christian Theocracy but none seem to agree on what that actually looks like, which is our best hope that we don't get to see it.

Anyway, on topic, I think Trump wins solely because he has fully committed himself to loving Israel, where Biden has been balancing wishy-washy support of each side to try and appease his various keys to power (China and liberals anti-Israel, banks being ofc pro-Israel). Mossad has likely ascertained the best option for Israel is to back Trump and will support him, where China is less eager to share the American Pie and will continue to back Biden. Federal election votes don't actually matter, but the perception needs to be kept and Trump has plenty of frothing-at-the-mouth MAGAtard boomers eager to vote for him.

To me the election will be interesting to see which of China and Mossad have more influence over our affairs.

Here's a speculative map of the election: https://www.270towin.com/
The Midwest is 100% the deciding factor here, if Biden gets Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin he wins the race even if Trump gets Georgia. Vice versa.
Pennsylvania hinges slightly towards Trump: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/2024/pennsylvania/
Michigan is extremely close, with Biden slowly catching up: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/2024/michigan/
Same with Wisconsin: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/2024/wisconsin/

if this Russia thing does turn into a hot war
Russia won't become a hot war. Most likely the same for Israel. The most likely cause of any new hot war is the dispute in the South China Sea, due to high tension, build ups of armed ships, and mutual defense treaties the US has with one of the countries involved (I believe the Philippines).

The debate was embarrassing. How embarrassing? I noticed on a close listen one of them sharted.

1:16:25, right after Trump says "it's too much money". Quick pause. Listen veryyy closely, there's a quiet wet squelch.

Cherry on top of this shitshow jfc

By all metrics Biden was absolutely terrible on the debate stage last night. It was genuinely shocking how much he has declined. I knew it was bad, but I figured they'd at least be able to hop him up on something to get through it.

lol

I was blown away hearing fucking CNN lampoon his performance and start throwing around the idea of replacing him. The last few years of the state media lying about Biden being "sharper than ever" have blown up in their faces. Biden is cooked and everyone knows it.

Trump's performance wasn't that great either but at least he was coherent. That part where they were arguing about golf was cringe inducing. Trump handed Biden easy layups, especially when it came to Roe V Wade, and Biden absolutely dropped the ball.

My favorite part was the predictable charade where they both tried to outdo each other on how much they could cum guzzle over Israel.

r/politics and a few other astro-turfed subs were in total damage control mode during and after the debate, mass deleting comments.

I suspect there will be a greater emphasis on trying to get Trump locked up behind bars, that's the only way they have a chance at stopping him at this point. Outside of that the only way the Democrats can maybe keep the White House is if they get Biden to quit his re-election bid and nominate a Bernie Sanders, Michelle Obama, or Oprah type figure.

Lesser reported on is that Pro-Palestine protestors had a half baked attempt at trying to interrupt the debate at the CNN building (too lazy to find another video source that isn't this guy.) Keep this sort of thing in the back of your mind, regardless of who wins/loses these progressive groups will not be contempt with zionist shills.
