  • You must find your life partner early in high school. Most unmarried people beyond that are promiscuous types who will divorce you and will love you conditionally. An actual strong unity comes from both partners both pledging and exercising their chastity, not just pledging after they've had their cake.
  • Nostalgia is a negative force especially in the 21st century, it is now like an addictive cope drug on the level of porn. It should usually be avoided.

I embrace modernism, i embrace transhumanism, i want to be the flesh being replaced by metal, i want to be inmortal, i want to clone myself before doing so, and make my clone continue my legacy, he would have to embrace the horrors of technology, and by thus, being more strong than i ever was.

Imagine you are a citizen of a nation in the grip of an oppressive dictatorship. You despise this dictatorship. You fantasize about its overthrow. Many of your best and most controversial philosophers are making ironclad arguments not just for democracy and basic human rights, but they are making a good case that dictatorships might be straight up evil in the eyes of the Lord. Naturally, as these ideas take hold, there is much unrest in your society, and it's growing all the time. Democracy and human rights sounds pretty good. Actually, they are virtuous. But, how? The monarchy is strong. Too strong, in fact, and you don't have the numbers or the resolve yet to fight. For now, you're left dreaming.

Meanwhile, the monarchy is continuing to monarchy. In order to expand its dominion, they send large numbers of its citizens to settle a foreign land. Conquest, they call it. But, they fuck up. Sent the wrong citizens. These citizens are brilliant, well-educated, have unquestionable resolve, and, to cap it all off, have had enough of the monarchy's shit. Over several decades, they do their best to whip the population into shape, both politically and militarily. And, one day, they declare their independence and resign themselves to war with the most powerful nation in existence. And with inferior numbers, inferior training, inferior weapons, inferior everything they... win? No. Fucking. Way.

So what did happen?

Remember, you're the person back home, under the thumb of a dictator. You're armed to the teeth with brand new philosophical ideas and you're fucking tired of being underfoot. You want your god-given rights. But, you've yet to act. What spark will light the powder keg?

Word starts getting around you hear that your brothers and sisters in a foreign land have gone rogue. They are attempting to break free from your shared oppressor. They are fighting for everything you believe to be just and good, fighting the fight that you wish you could fight. They are putting their lives on the line against an unbeatable foe. That foe your is nation, and anyone who supports it, and they are about to set on those revolutionaries like they are some defenseless brown people who are sitting on some precious natural resource. Keg, meet spark.

The American Revolution didn't happen. At least, not in the way we think it did. Sure, there was rebellion, but nothing so effective and decisive as what is taught in American textbooks. Not even close. Rather, American independence was won by our sympathizers back home on the mainland. They were speaking out against what they perceived as a holocaust, and the monarchy fell so far out of fashion that they were forced to make a populist decision. And the rest is history.
Very nice.
But the King was already weakened by the time of the American Revolution and England wasn't the strongest force in the world at the time, it was France, which happened to oppose London and support the rebels.
The English civil war preceded the American Revolution in which the Parliament was immensely strengthened/the king weakened, and the "glorious" Revolution followed, after which the King did not even speak the same langugage as the parliament, George III. was the first King of his Dynasty to natively speak English.
The real hot take is, that the world would be better off if the British Empire persisted, to prevent American hegemony and instead make the west bipolar. (competition->better policies)

And on a more philosophical level, I disagree that spreading your genetic material does not keep you alive. If your genetic material lives on, so do you. Your consciousness dies, but that's just your lived experience, not everything you are.
Having children is cheating death.

There doesnt exist a man who didnt drag his index finger across his sweaty scrotum and didnt enjoy the masculine musk emanating from his testes.
I mean, aren't you biologically designed to enjoy that smell?

Being schizo is ok and is actually the default setting from not drinking all the shit the government puts into drinking water. How come nobody questions what's in there but happily chugs?
I drink inhuman amounts of unfiltered tap water and I'm still a schizo. Can the government do ANYTHING right?

I disagree of course with most of what you said (it is an unpopular opinion thread) but I don't want to argue with them... however I am genuinely curious about this point about the fighting obesity and heart disease. What led you to believe this?

  • If you believe in a concept of authority, if you see any human - living or dead - as a reputable source of wisdom including me (and you)- you should be ashamed of yourself.
  • Thus, philosophy is a bunch of bull. If you see philosophy as a legit science and think bored old rich people with an itchy tongue and a great feeling of self-importance are worthy to spend your time reading/listening to them - you should be ashamed of yourself as well.
  • Tradition as a concept is enormously dumb and should be dead already - it's like homeopathy, religion, astrology - someone said something at some time, so we need to follow for don't-ask-why reasons. Because it's a tradition.
  • People who play videogames should be sent to concentration camps.
  • Porn shouldn't even exist in the first place.
  • Reading books won't make you smart.
  • A person who happened to be born on a certain area of the Earth shouldn't be forced to fight and die for said area. Treason is fake. Nobody owes loyalty to random people who happen to be born at the same place you were.
  • Moreso, nobody owes loyalty to those who are blood related. Unless it is your child, because, obviously, it was your deliberate fault.
  • People who want to have a child should be tested for basic child-raising knowledge, mental stability, financial conditions.

For the world to be at peace the west must be counterbalanced by other nations.

premise one is agreeable. premise 2 "all philosophy is bullshit" is bullshit. the whole point of philosophy is to question things. What's practiced now in academia is mostly scientism apology and political correctness, sure, but just because the department is labeled "philosophy" doesn't mean the people there are actually doing anything reasonably considered philosophical. If you accept premise one, extreme skepticism of all authority, this should in fact drive you further into philosophy, since any position taken on a political matter is going to have some sort of opposing perspective, thus demanding a philosophical analysis of the two points of view. In fact, by even stating these beliefs in the way you have, you have taken multiple philosophical points of view: anti-traditionalism, anti-family, etc. (a position Marx, someone who is often claimed to have been a philosopher, has advocated for).

furthermore, you first bullet point is itself a position, called "philosophical anarchism" https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/authority/#ConLegPolAut not to be confused with street punks trashing a neighborhood.

so while im sympathetic, your point of view contradicts itself.

Some of what you said was based but a lot of what you said was cringe so for that you're a dead man.

The oligarchs """predicted""" the food shortage in a simulation, just like they """predicted""" the pandemic in Event 201 and Operation Lockstep.
The oligarchs constantly want to ban meat and governments all around the world warn about tobacco and alcohol, medicine gets developed and we get access to that medicine (altough much later usually) In research meat eating has numerous times been strongly associated with mortality and everything that is leBad basically, the opposing Keto and Carnivore side cannot support itself with clinical research and just rests on theory and criticizing the SAD diet and study design (Not ALL cholesterol, they didn't go down with carbs enough, there were carbs together with the meat etc) So i conclude, that the oligarchs are actually somewhat concerned about the health of their cattle, like actual farmers would be too. (They present themselves as "philanthropists", something good is likely to come out of the fulfillment of their messiah-complex)
Society today is too libtarded to cage fatties in an abstinence chamber to sober out (fast. Surgical treatment has many side effects, pharmacological too and both don't work too well over time.
Since the problem is not solved by self-discipline, a food crisis is created which financially forces you to fast and get in shape. The people most hit by the crisis are the poor, the people most hit by the obesity pandemic, are also the poor. It's quite genius tbh

Well, if someone can place a nametag on things I believe, that won't make me believe that the system of tagging is valid, so I don't see how it's contradictory
(thinking of asexuals who somehow belong under the lgbtabc umbrella, while being irrelevant to sexual orientation by the very name)
Those - philosophy schools I mean - are mostly obvious things, should be studied within sociology and psychology, biology maybe - since it's about how human brain perceive reality. Don't think the latter is possible now, but in the future, maybe. And maybe there are specific chemicals that make a human believe mind comes first!

>Religion today is primarily built from culture rather than faith in a deity
Oh I want all people who are not entirely agree with every word in thier chosen religion, all postulates, everything - to be excommunicated, just banned to call themselves a follower of a certain religion.
You just can't be an adept if you don't believe in it entirely.
"Yes but", "good ideas but", "something is right but" - that's not how you approach a religion! If you call yourself, say, a christian, I should expect you believe all things christians believe.
If you choose to accept only some of them - that's normal, in fact - we all do in a way (any religion, I think - I'm sure there a couple ok ideas here or there anyway) But that doesn't make you a christian.
As for your point - I'd say it was pretty much always about culture. Feeling of being together, sharing mostly basic ideas, being connected within your community and find connections out of it, away from your birth place - expecting compassion, shelter, help from strangers who happen to share your religious beliefs.

Also have this, you all: Simpsons are not dead.
I don't think someone perceive season 2 with the rules of season 9, why then you should see season 25 in terms of season 9 or 10 or whatever.
