I don't think NUVPR is lacking the knowloedge to compile a list by himself. In my opinion, the problem is that these list have always been compiled by community submission, and changing that would result in issues (I guess). Community submissions are fine as long as there is an acutal community which digs into the genre; but it looks like it isn't the case anymore on >reddit
