Still works for me.This message is specifically for our leading @709.beats (16:00 UTC) session this week, and will apply to everyone in North America as well on Nov 3rd when DST ends for the Americas.
INCOMING TEMPORAL EVENT - EUTZ Daylight Savings Time ENDS Oct 27th!
As it happens, inaugural Quake Sunday Service takes place on October 27th, a date which marks the end of Daylight Savings for many European countries which follow British Summer Time (BST), Central European Summer Time (CEST), Eastern European Summer Time (EEST).
TL;DR: EUTZ comrades, does DST ending this Sunday (Oct 27th) in your country change your answer in the poll?
If you answered yes, please kindly adjust your response
Beat time and UTC-0 do not consider daylight savings(on purpose). Because of this upcoming time-shift, the polls will remain open through Nov 3rd for North American DST changes and adjustments to schedules. Check your local listings for showtimes.
Oh the timing...(I know I know, here goes this guy talking about Time again....)
If you live in certain regions of the world (Central and Eastern Europe, United States, and Canada, you will soon experience a 'shift' in time as your clocks move between their Daylight Savings Time(DST) and Standard offsets. For example, in many European countries, clocks will alternate between Central European Summer Time (CEST UTC+2) and Central European Time (CET UTC+1) on October 27th. In the U.S., clocks alternate between Eastern Daylight Time (EDT UTC-4) and Eastern Standard Time (EST UTC-5) on Nov 3rd.
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) does not adjust for daylight saving time (DST) and remains constant throughout the year. Time zones that use UTC as a reference, such as Central European Time (CET UTC+1) or Eastern Standard Time (EST UTC-5), may adjust for DST by adding or subtracting an hour during certain periods of the year, but UTC itself stays the same.
We have several regions which will be affected by upcoming DST changes on Oct 27th, and I love an opportunity to use a table.

Why could this change my answer in the poll?
Your local hours will shift and may affect your availability and timing.
If you responded @709 because you expect it to be 6:00PM local time (CEST), with DST ending the local time will be 5:00PM (CET). Refer to your beat time-piece to cross reference your times if necessary.
Here is an abridged example of this shift for Central European Time (EU) and Eastern Standard Time (US)

There are always exceptions....
Türkiye, for example, has not observed DST since 2016 and instead remains on UTC+3 year-round, effectively aligning with Eastern European Summer Time (EEST UTC+3) permanently.
Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay previously observed DST, and these countries have abolished the practice in recent years. Argentina has not observed DST since 2009, Uruguay ended DST in 2015, and Brazil discontinued DST in 2019. All three nations now remain on their respective standard times year-round, with no seasonal clock changes.
Did this motherflunker just time'splain spring forward and fall back? YUP.
If you found this chart helpful, you *may* find this project helpful in visualizing how timezones interact.

This is a special message for you all, the @709 (16:00 UTC) leaders. I know some of you are in North America, for which this message will apply the following week (Nov 3rd). Those of you in South America feel free to ignore the rest of us fumbling around with DST changes, unless you're in Chile.
Good news is after Nov 3rd we don't have to worry about DST again until March 2025.
See you in the arena.
still good with me. might fit even better tbhThis message is specifically for our leading @709.beats (16:00 UTC) session this week, and will apply to everyone in North America as well on Nov 3rd when DST ends for the Americas.

As long as your baseq3 directory contains these files you're good to go for our first Sunday Service.Do I need to do anything else after having ioquake3 installed and the files for quake3 arena being used for it?
