The Late Night Films thread was very interesting and I enjoyed all your suggestions and the discussions as well! So I thought something in similar vein, like this thread might sprout even more interesting things.

What are some weird films you have watched or enjoy watching? Post, share, and discuss!

Lynch's Mulholland Drive is what immediately comes to mind, the whole movie following a kind of dreamlike logic that makes it pretty unsettling to watch.

Another I've never had the patience to sit through but still is an interesting anomaly is Enter The Void, an experimental movie that follows someone's out of body experience from a first person point of view, experiencing moments from their life and the aftermath of their death.

Both solid picks. I met David Lynch at a signing a few years ago and he signed my copy of Mulholland Drive. Still my favorite of his.

Mullholland Drive is freaking awesome, and is so Lynchian. After 3 watches there are still things I don't quite understand.

Enter the Void is like unlike anything else I've seen, simultaneously so raw and transcendent. Truly a one of a kind film; Gaspar Noe is an artist.

Woah, I'm jealous! Lynch is a mastermind and I hope he continues to direct more films.

Woah, these are great suggestions. Has anyone ever seen these bad boys?

Nice little French animation from the 70's.

Just a bombastic bizarro and at times incomprehendble one here, but among my favorites:

Tetsuo: Iron Man... it's what anxiety would look like if it was coming down from a meth binge:

Amazing symbolism in this one, a bit arcane if you don't know the context but still worth watching:

Lastly a beautiful one directed, written, produced, scored and filmed by the guy himself whose now unfortunately disgraced. Beautiful atmosphere.

I have seen Fantastic Planet, I love this style of animation, it reminds me of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine movie or the bits of animation in Monty Python films. I want to say I became aware of it due to it being sampled in a song, but I can't think of what.

I've seen Fantastic Planet in my youtube recommendations before. I'm really liking that uncanny, rotoscopish animation style.
I'll add it to my ever-growing list of movies I don't really have time to watch :kekCaught:

I lost the thread, but a few years ago, someone in the YTTalk forums had shared an IMDb link with a list of movies.

One of the movies was called Bad Boy Bubby. It was kinds of disturbing, but also fun to watch. At the time someone had uploaded the full movie to YouTube, but it's no longer available.

Yellow Submarine is love! So is Monty Python. my favorite my them is actually Meaning of Life, The Holy Grail is a close second though. I am in love with Rotoscopic animation, it's my favorite type even in animes; think Akuma no Hata and Masaaki Yuasa (more or less, but LOVE 90% his work).

Woah, Bad Boy Bubby sounds great! I'll try and find it out. Most of these films I've found actually came up from a really late night search on this obscure and wonky list, but it is my lamp to the realm of strange cinema.

I watched The Hunger with David Bowie when looking for movies with a Blade Runner feel. While I thought it was good and did think the aesthetic was cool, I wasn't in the right space for it and stopped watching because it was rather dark and heavy. So this movie comes to mind when I think of something I was enjoying watching but was unsettling

Strangely enough I never heard of this film, being a Bowie fan too. Thank you putting this out there!

I highly recommend Pi 1998. Its about a mathematician trying to figure out the pattern to PI to try to use to reveal the pattern in the stock market but in doing so he discovered something much more. I do t want to spoil but its amazing.

One of my top 5 favorite films of all time, not gonna lie. The part when the sorcerer conjures that abomination is just sublime, oh and others too! That's the type of stuff I love and could watch for the rest of my life. If the world had more of this, we'd be one step closer to a utopia.
