Weird Films you May (or may not) enjoy?

I highly recommend Pi 1998. Its about a mathematician trying to figure out the pattern to PI to try to use to reveal the pattern in the stock market but in doing so he discovered something much more. I do t want to spoil but its amazing.

I remember watching this a while back with a high fever, back in the days of the flu, and not quite sure if I was delirious or it was just that weird. And it was, but rightfully so, 'cause it's a damned good movie. It's unreal how versatile of a director Darren Aronofsky can be at times.

Mandy starring Nicholas Cage. Nicholas Cage has become its own genre at this point lol.
Too true! It's also a psychedelic horror in every sense of the word. Beyond the Black Rainbow was not as good as this, but I'm crossing my fingers Panos Cosmatos does another film like those two :CokeMan:

If you like anime, Dead Leaves is a pretty good film. It's full of really interesting, over the top animation along with a wild story that makes little sense. Truly a weird film.

Huh, I was just about to mention how that animation style looked almost exactly like the Gurren Lagann eyecatches, but I looked it up and they're both directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, animator/director at Gainax and cofounder of studio Trigger. I'll have to check it out sometime.

Anyway, I feel like this is the perfect time to share the recently uncovered Soviet Lord of the Rings TV movie adaptation. It's hilariously bizarre and takes some interesting liberties you won't find in the Peter Jackson version. There's no official subs, but you can turn on auto-translate to English, which is better than nothing.

One of my top 5 favorite films of all time, not gonna lie. The part when the sorcerer conjures that abomination is just sublime, oh and others too! That's the type of stuff I love and could watch for the rest of my life. If the world had more of this, we'd be one step closer to a utopia.
insane part, I love when He projects his future Shaman self to battle in the present against the evil lover that they put in that crocodiles stomach.

*Voice of the abomination summoned* HUUUUUHHHH HAAAAA NYYAAAA!!! That was such a filthy part, especially after the three sorcerers ATE EACHOTHER'S chewed meat before giving it back!!! If there was a sequel...

Oh my god this is a jewel! The low budget vibes and the somber and stoic Russian acting are just perfect! I gotta show this to a few zealous LOTR coworkers and see how they react :KongDance:

Depending on how crazy they are, they might just love it just for the fact that it actually includes Tom Bombadil :SoyChamp:

One coworker told me they ironically liked it, and the other one told me the auto translation was super weird. Not what I was expecting form them, but am still pleased.

A movie that I enjoyed but many people I have ask about it thinks it's weird, It's The Nightmare Before Christmas by Tim Burton. Actually many films from Tim Burton many people find it weird, but I love this movie and Coraline too. I really liked how Tim Burton makes really cool dark movies with characters made with clay. It's surreal how this man can make a hole world with clay and make an individual character with a hole set of their faces with different reactions in clay for the movie.

If you want to look at some really old stuff, here's some things by George Méliès from the 1890s and 1900s. I know he gets credited a lot with creating the first horror movie but there's a 13 second clip of a dancing fake skeleton from earlier than his movies so I'm not sure if it's the first or not. It's nice seeing a glimpse into history and oldschool special effects.

Here's a little film by George Albert Smith from the 1890s, too
