One of my favorite releases on the Dream Catalogue label is fluence - e l e m e n t a l. It's a Vaportrap release that I think doesn't get as much appreciation as it deserves from fans of vaportrap. Much more melancholic and more melody based than more trap music around. Also has a nice misty, Asian, forest vibe that I love soooooo much. Definitely one of my overall favorite releases of all time.

I've talked about this release before in my underrated Vapor albums thread, but II nothing II's higeki is just such an underrated banger. Moody vaporsynth with such good instrumentation in the mix. I turn this on when it's dusk and the sky has been grey all day. Definitely check out II nothing II's discography they deserve much more love than they get.

To be honest, a lot of vaporwave runs together for me, I have a hard time distinguishing artists or albums
Can definitely relate to this, I usually talk about the same releases over and over unless I write them down for future notice. Especially when you just turn on the soundcloud mix and just let the music guide you, knowing very well you may never hear any of these songs again.

don't get me wrong, the music is awesome, but since it is a "genre" a lot of it blends together

Late Night Delight will always have a place in my heart.
Aside of that, News at 11 by 猫 シ Corp. is another of my favourites. I'm haunted by its concept album-like vibes, focusing on the last lighthearted moments right before 9/11 happened. Perhaps that's because I'm not from USA and I was 7 or 8 years old back then, I couldn't possibly realize the tragedy that was going on.

Another album that fascinates me, but I don't see it listed among fans often, is Midnight Radio Deluxe by ΣPSON. Being a podcaster and a radio lover, surely because it reminds me of a very old radio transmission and I wish I could listen to this album while driving in the night, one day.

One that has always stuck with me is Holograms by 骷. Such a landmark release in terms of how everything was structured to create a specific feeling. I think a lot of vaporwave releases miss the mark with regards to this, because a lot of the time given the sheer amount of music out there, a lot of it tends to solely focus on tropes that are a little stale. The reason this album still sticks with me isn't solely because of the tropes it plays with, but how it sequences it and presents it to me as one complete experience.

As for most obscure, I would have to say 異常 by midnight王朝. This album is very unsettling for me, and given my unnatural fear of the dark, this didn't help much with curing that. Despite this, I love it to death and think that this artist deserved more discussion while they were active (their supposed final release being a year ago now).

It's difficult for me to have just one favorite, but I suppose I lean most toward Hit Vibes by Saint Pepsi. It's such a good listen overall, with Cherry Pepsi and Better being the standout tracks, of course. It just makes me feel good.

Most obscure has to go to Sustainable Future Village, a compilation album featuring a number of artists centered around the utopian virtual theme. It's obscure because the label responsible for it (Cardboard Future) simply ceased to exist around 2015. Only reason I know it exists is because I was trawling this rateyourmusic page about the subgenre hoping to find some albums I hadn't heard yet. Luckily, Vapor Memory uploaded it to YouTube and through further investigation discovered this mega backup of the label's entire discography created by TVG on Tumblr. Check them out, they've got a ton of other obscure albums archived.

Gonna have to go with the very obvious I'll Try Living Like This. There's just nothing else quite like it out there. For me the experience is all about the contrasts between the chaotic noisy parts and the sick grooves, as well as between the beautiful serene moments and the truly ugly ones. I've listened to it so many damn times. 10/10.

As for the most obscure one, I'll instead go with a release from last year that I feel didn't get enough attention. Space Camp by Epson is just back to back banger after banger of classic vaporwave. Gotta love it.

Skimmed through some tracks and I liked what I heard. Very reminiscent of Vector Graphics.

Gave the second album a listen. It was interesting but pretty tonally inconsistent. Songs ranged from generic corporate background music to straight up vaporwave. Also I thought the skit with the woman crying over the death of her friend (?) was weirdly out of place. Maybe I just didn't get it lol. Utopian virtual is a cool concept though so it's a shame it didn't take off as much as other subgenres.

My favorite, more so than the beloved I'll Try Living Like This, just because of the monolithic size and diversity of songs, plus my favorite Vaporwave cover art.

Obscure? Ooof. Usually I'm into obscure films / literature, but I'm pretty vanilla with Vaporwave. Sooo, here's what I feel is my favorite 'obscure' Vaporwave album - and perhaps my #2? Vaporwave album in general; it has the added benefits of being a good meditative album too.

Another "obscure vaporwave" album which - can it even be classified as Vaporwave - is this one:

うわー、このスペースキャンプはバンガーの後にバンガーがあります!このエプソンの人たちは彼のお金がどこにあるか知っています。私は紫色の雰囲気に浮かんでいて、今、レーザーが私の目から飛び出している
