Lunacid. Basically take vaporwave, king's field, shadow tower(pre-dark souls fromsoft games) and PS1-style aesthetics, give it a good whisking, and out comes Lunacid. This game rocks and I've been having a blast playing it! :BeerTime:

Here's a random video talking about it, since I'm of course gonna shill games I enjoy :JahySmug:

Valkyria Chronicles 4. Skipped the first game after I lost the saves and I didn't want to watch all the cutscenes again. Why it took them 4 games to add a skip cutscene option is beyond me.
Always found it funny how this game seems to say that ".. war is so hell you guys". But then you shoot an enemy soldier to death and the anime girl goes YATTA and jumps in glee after taking the life of another human.

Guess this game doesn't consider Germans human
Anyways, Ferrier best girl and I like her voice

Replaying the metal gear solid saga (And affirming my unpopular opinion that MGS4 And Peace Walker are the best metal gear of them all)

Kino. Started MGS2 and at the part where you find Ames with the mic and all. I think I found an old gamefaqs post where some guy asks for tutorial/guide on how to get a good view up one of the hostages' skirt and I found that funny

just got back into wizard101, did everything i could've done without a membership (i had the whole wizard city and a bit of krokotopia unlocked from a bunch of birthdays and christmas gifts from when i was a kid). thinking of getting a membership and going on now, the game holds up quite well and its surprisingly full of active players, even more than i remember seeing back in 2011/12 when i first played

I went through Wizard101 up to Mooshu again last year too. I played Wizard101 religiously as a kid, I was there for the 1.0 release all the way up through Zafaria, I think I stopped playing because I felt like due to power creep powerful spells cost so many pips to cast that you could only use spells from your school for attacking, since other schools can't use power pips and you don't even get access to them past a certain point. However I've heard that one of the newer worlds has a new set of spells and mechanics that fixes this problem.

Mostly their changes since 2012 (roughly when I stopped playing) have been good from what I've seen, but one change that really grinds my gears is that dungeons were dumbed down. It used to be that when you entered a dungeon, if you died, that was it. You had to start all over again, unless you had a friend who survived, in which case you could teleport back to him. This forced me to strategize so much as a kid and really think about how I was gonna prepare before entering a dungeon. Big Ben in particular was a gauntlet for me and it walled me for a long time because of this. I had to really plan ahead and do some risk/reward calculation: do I take my potion now, possibly damning myself later on, or risk the next battle with my current health? But now, when you die, you don't lose any of your progress. You can start right back where you left off. This trivializes the dungeons so much that it makes them boring. Half the fun of dungeons was the tension of knowing that if you die, you lose EVERYTHING.

Pinball FX, bought a bunch of tables to revel in how bad at pinball I am.

DSC02722.jpg

This one is called Swords of Fury, and is my favorite of what I've played so far... probably because it's one of the more simple ones and isn't as hard as some of the others are.

Based bro. For someone interested in pinball tables, any recommended videos on the subject?
Unfortunately not really, Pinball isn't my primary hobby in any sense and most of the video's I've come across are more like ads for individual tables, which for primary hobbiest are probably great, but not so much for new entrants.

What I got is
Pinside.com
Appears to be the primary forum, marketplace, and information hub for pinball in North America and probably Europe.

This dude, a high skilled (as far as I can tell) video pinball player who's videos are pure gameplay with no voiceover.

There are a large number of pinball tournament videos like this one, something I didn't even know existed until recently.

The only other thing I got is that if you're looking into physical tables, they are expensive(Like 4k~20K USD expensive) and need consistent maintenance to function without problems. Video game reproductions are way, WAY cheaper and the physics are fairly close to the real thing at this point.

So it's probably cheaper going to an arcade or an arcade-bar to play Pinball?

Yea, especially if you live in an area with one of those upfront cost unlimited play arcades.

I recently beat Terranigma. It's got one of the coolest premises I've ever seen in a JRPG - you play as a kid from the hollow interior of the earth on a quest to resurrect the apocalyptic surface world and restore civilization by re-enacting events from real-world history. The whole game has a great surreal atmosphere despite the generic artstyle, and the story manages to go to some genuinely profound and unsettling places. The gameplay is also great, kind of like old-school Zelda but with the addition of combo moves and a very basic level up system.
My one problem is that the quality of the game falls off hard in the second half, although the actual ending is pretty good. The levels near the end are boring and linear compared to those near the beginning and the story's pacing falls apart. The last act of the game is just wandering around parts of the world map you've already visited and searching for a series of macguffins that will stop the bad guy who was only introduced five minutes ago. Some of this might be due to the limitations of the SNES, but I still think it could have been handled better.
Still, it's a great game and one that I would definitely recommend. The opening sequence does a good job of showing off what makes the game so interesting:

Disillusion because it was shilled on the front page. :melhpy:
I haven't completed it yet but I will say it's aesthetically unique although the gameplay seems to be pretty generic.

Got back into League of Legends recently, surprisingly pretty fun. Tanks being meta again is canceraids though. I enjoy playing Wukong and Shaco. Other than that, Right now I'm playing Minish Cap for the first time and then after that imma play Link's Awakening. I haven't touched any handheld zelda besides Link Between Worlds and thats a crime

Animal Crossing new horizons is probably the most disappointing Switch exclusive I ever played and it makes me sad to say that :(

I don't think the game is bad at all though. But there are so many things about the game that irks me and it adds up to the game really letting me down in the end. The pain points for me would be how the life sim aspect isn't as much of a focus and how much the game needed "updates" just to feel complete. Basically after playing new leaf for a billion hours, I was expecting this entry to be the best game in the series. But it didn't really turn out that way. I also REALLY love the Animal Crossing series in general. This game just feels unfairly cursed.

However, I'm going to replay it since it's been 3 years and I've decided to make the most of it and accept my feelings towards it. :) And I've lately been in the mood for a chill life sim of some kind.

I just want to build my dream house, damn it!!

Crosspost with the internet fiction thread, I played Bob's Game demo. Tried a .nds rom but it gave me a black screen in the emulator.

Couldn't pass the pong minigame, not sure if the school is available after that.

It's bad, but the fact that he did everything from scratch (with the help from his friend for the tile engine) makes the effort commendable. In 2004 it could have been a standard mediocre game.

Been playing Metroid Fusion. It's one of those games I just never got around to playing over the years for some reason. I can't really put my finger on why because Super Metroid and Zero Mission are among my favourite games of all time. I think it was just a timing thing and then it spent several decades in my backlog.

All I play anymore is League of Legends, Stardew Valley and PUBG. I wish I cared about gaming again, but it's a vehicle for either abusive monetization, shoving political ideas down your throat, or both (see apex legends).

The cycle goes: Game looks good, I'll watch it for now, game comes out, looks half-done, day one DLC, lootboxes, overt political view, or hates white player base, review carpet-bombed, I sleep.

The indie game market is really booming right now for those reasons + a ton of great indie games coming out
or if you don't want to bother filtering out the shovelware you could try older games from abandonware sites

Honestly looking forward to this new armored core. Gonna wait for review to come out to see if it's worth playing. I hope since Japan is involved it won't be woke trash. Other than that if you have some good indie suggestions, I see indie stuff more and more as the best option in gaming at this point.

Cheap, Good, Inventive, Character, Soul or Pay 50 bucks for a hunk of shit that tells you to hate yourself.
